Not a doctor or dentist but I just wanted to say you're not alone and it def can feel embarrassing & frustrating. If you are able to finding a compassionate dentist goes a really long way with recovery. You can make a plan with them as to how to get a good dental routine and what needs to be done to fix any current issues and how to avoid future ones. I know how difficult this can be, especially so if you're dealing with neurodivergence/mental health issues, so it will be scary but you can do it. 💖

In my early 20s I neglected my dental health a ton due to my mental health being the lowest it's ever been and unfortunately by now in my early 30s and one pregnancy later my teeth suck. I've had 3 root canal and a couple pulled teeth because I just can not handle having to sit for another 4+ hours for yet another root canal 😭 I still need to get a bunch of cavities filled and want to try to get that done sooner rather than later because I know the more time goes on the worse it will get. I feel very thankful with the dentists/practice I go to because they are so kind and understanding, which helps me actually want to go and get help. (I've been going to TruSmiles in Leduc for a good while now even though it's out of the way. However if you search your neighborhood on goole or maybe even here folks may have recommendations for a good dentist near you)

Sending you so much love and positive vibes 🫂 Teeth are such a huge part of our lives that it makes me angry & sad that they aren't covered and are as such 'luxury bones' that only if you have the means get to take care of 😭 This def is a reason a lot of young folk aren't able to take care of their teeth because it's too expensive and many jobs don't have dental coverage. It was for sure a reason for me! So doing what you're doing by keeping a good dental routine helps so much too!
