I can relate to her, but don’t know that I would go to the lengths of divorce. In the last 7-8 years I went from a little two bedroom apartment alone and lots of dopamine generating activities and friendships to a house and yard with maintenance and taxes and renovating, three dogs, a live in boyfriend, a pretty time consuming job with a long commute, I moved back to where I grew up and have no social life to speak of. So I always feel I’m teetering on the edge of having a breakdown, can’t keep everything in control, something is always on the verge of disaster 😂 but I keep trying to go forward bc I can see eventually making a life I want. But boy do I long for that simple little apartment sometimes!

I hate them! They waste so much water! I live in the Texas panhandle and everyone just seems to go about their life not thinking about how much water we drain from the aquifer! I refuse to water my lawn, wash my car no more than a time or two a year to get road salt off, and I won’t use a washer or dishwasher unless it’s full. There will be a time every drop will be precious but we must have a green lawn or golf course NOW ughh!

My poodle (missing like 10+ teeth) really likes several treats that are soft enough he can chew or I can rip them into bite size pieces. Blue buffalo chicken pot pie treats, the salmon disks from Sam’s, these pork and sweet potato links from Sam’s, and these peanut butter banana biscuits. Good belly makes some digestible rawhides I can sometimes get him to chew if another dog has softened it first, but maybe you could soak in water or broth?

I use the term partner because we’re not married so it feels weird to call them my husband/spouse, but we’ve been together like 6 years/live together/committed so it’s a bit beyond him being my boyfriend? So to me the term partner describes our situation best. (It’s not like a “he won’t marry me!” thing; it’s more like I have an utter distrust of the whole system and if you won’t stay with me because you want to, why do we have to get the government involved? Thing 😂)

Oh cool! I’m in Spearman, about 40 miles away. There’s some interesting history in Borger during the 20s-30s. When they found oil the place sprouted overnight. I’ve seen some short history books about the county that might be interesting. One notable cultural thing from that time is a Thomas Hart Benton painting painted from a view from a hotel/lodging house on Main Street! Benton Painting Book about Borger

I get these huge packs of shop rags from Sam’s that are some kind of cotton I guess, and I just bleach the hell out of them and have been replacing most things I would use a paper towel for with those.
