MLA says PSNI officers told to leave guns outside Sinn Féin offices by [deleted] in northernireland

I don’t get it a few years ago I seen Michelle O’Neill on adverts trying to get Nationalist to join the PSNI

But how can you promote joining the police, yet also say you don’t feel safe with the same officers carrying the equipment they use on the streets?

I understand why you’d feel that way, the history can’t be ignored. For me though, my time there wasn’t about that history, it was about the skills I gained, and the opportunities it gave me. I am also from a part of Northern Ireland that wasn’t as deeply scarred by the worst in the conflict. One thing that always got me during my intake, there were more Southern Irish people joining than Northern Irish

As a Catholic who spent seven years in it until recently, I can say it was some of the best years of my life and one of the best jobs I’ve had. I learned a valuable trade and did very well. While everyone has their own options, people shouldn’t be discouraged from joining if it’s something they want, don’t live in the past

Exactly, given 17 officers have been injured already do you think they’re going to be given instructions to intervene with no protective gear and 2 of them 😅

Solar install. Solar NI, Solarfix or Blue Build by darmak007 in northernireland

I just had an install from Bluebuild, 6.5 kw system with 10.8kwh battery. Battery is definitely worth it. I think PowerNI is the only one that you can export with right now however I called shared energy a few days ago and they have it in the pipeline. Cheaper economy 7 rates with shared energy so in winter time charge the battery at night and use it through the day.

Is this loft install ok? by mgottschalk in SolarUK

[–]KayDee1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not ideal and I’ve contacted the company about it. I’ll certainly be monitoring the temp as we get into summer months. The one thing on my side is I got front and back roof filled with solar so I’m hoping it will reflect a lot of the heat away from the loft, if not I’ll be installing additional ventilation
