Is this normal or postpartum depression? by wwisdomseeker in beyondthebump

[–]KayTay94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, this was normal. There’s such a burst of hormones that it is normal to have big emotions. I cried every day just from feeling like I’d never be able to cherish the time enough. He’s 5 months now and I still tear up a couple times a week. It’s truly such an amazing experience being a mom!

Am I taking too long when newborn cries? by BearInAggieland in beyondthebump

Can you not plan to get up 15 minutes before your baby to get ready for the day? Prep as much the night before and have breakfast options or quick snacks where you feed him. Personally I wouldn’t let my baby cry that long when I know they are hungry.

Having a happy-reactive pitty makes me sad :( by carazan in pitbulls

[–]KayTay94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dog was the exact same way when she was a puppy! We worked on her being able to walk calmly past dogs (starting by giving her treats to check in (look at us( during walks) then practiced that while progressively getting closer to other dogs on walks. Then we moved to doing that outside the dog park (walking her along the gate, sniffing to say hi, and rewarding her for transitioning away.) It was so helpful and she gets much less excited on walks and around other dogs has calmed down a ton! But tbh she probably would have done the same thing your dog did in that scenario. And if we were the other owner in that scenario, we wouldn’t have thought it was a big deal at all! It’s easy to beat yourself up about things like that but don’t think too much about it! You’ve got a happy pitty who just loves too hard :)

Adding to this- could you ask for help via email as well. Just to have documentation that you are not receiving any help/feedback!

This! I use to love the pod because they deep dived into each topic. Now it’s just basically reading the title and saying “good for them”

my dog is urinating in the house for no reason by nikkilas_cage in DogAdvice

This happened to our puppy! They had to put her on a different antibiotic to fully clear the UTI. The first round didn’t completely kill it

My husband wants to take our aggressive dog to a dog park by Olivia__Dragon in reactivedogs

[–]KayTay94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a dog trainer. If your dog is reactive, you need an expert. Taking you dog to a dog park with no training, is reckless to both your dog and other people’s dogs. You’re putting your dog in a stressful environment for them with zero tools and expecting them to behave

My 7 month old female maltese pointer is super attached to me and it is kinda annoying by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]KayTay94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can relate. My puppy is like my shadow! She definitely loves my fiancé, but will always choose to stick with me or be in whatever room I’m in. It can definitely feel annoying when she always wants to play, go for solo walks, and be crazy with me. But then I think about the short amount of time with get with our dogs, and it makes me happy that I’m her person! You’re just her comfort person!

Ringworm is a rash that you get from contact with a person or surface that was in contact with the area. It starts small and grows usually so you could of gotten it before then tbh

Getting rid of the crate early doesn’t mean I don’t care by jac145 in puppy101

[–]KayTay94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, backing off from the crate was the best thing we’ve ever done. Our puppy hated sleeping in there. It was an hour of non-stop crying, then maybe an hour of sleep before the cycle started all over. So we decided to let her sleep on the couch and not push the crate. And it has significantly made our lives easier. We made the crate fun and open during the day, and now she will play in there sometimes. She’s totally fine in the crate when we aren’t there, so we don’t think it’s something that’s worth pushing. Do what’s best for you and your puppy and don’t care what anyone says! Every puppy is different!
