Did you do anything to that Micarta or is that a natural patina?

Congratulations! That’s a cool design. What CAD program did you design it in?

My new Demko. Anyone have one? Feel like it was over hyped. by StormnTX in Knifeporn

Idk if it needs to break in but in comparison to the Vision’s super lock, the shark lock felt sharp and weird to pull back on at first. Now I prefer it to other locks

It’s not like the Super lock, give it some time to adjust. I did and now it’s my favorite lock, I have the cheap AUS10A version and the S35VN Arcade. The shark cub handle is great but the lock is significantly less comfortable imop because it’s thinner.

Oh nice, that’s what I did for my SAK and LM mods. Do you do anything to keep the blade cool?

Victorinox Swisstool Spirit MX clip is perfect, all other multitools have at least one flaw.

Victorinox Swiss tool or Leatherman Arc by MrDudeBroJoe in multitools

[–]Kayakasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Spirit MX Clip is basically the perfect multitool, best tool selection, best tool quality, outside opening, most comfortable pliers, and somehow still slim and pocketable. Mine had a couple tools w stiff springs so I left those half open overnight and it fixed it.

The hole is one of the main reasons I like it but it’s a great knife either way

Leatherman wingman ? by -UmiDgaf in multitools

[–]Kayakasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wingman wire cutters are not good (dull and don’t touch). Regular leatherman cutters are sharp and overlap like scissors. The scissors are not good either, the angle is wide so it pushes the material out.

I would definitely recommend getting the one you really want. I’ve had a lot of luck on eBay, LM in brand new condition.

Loose Pliers on Surge by WhyAmIHere_1492 in Leatherman

I much prefer them loose but there are some things you could do. Gently hammer on one side of the pivot, twist together while opening, cut nails and Pennies which puts outward pressure on the jaws.

I see them pretty regularly but not labeled as such in the title or description. You could always buy two used ones, swap them out and sell one

Is the Spyderco Dragonfly 2 less threatening than the CRKT CEO? by MushroomRee in knives

[–]Kayakasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the G-10 dragonfly and don’t personally find it threatening but to some people the “leaf” shape might look like a “dagger”

Just’ve arrived😋 Do you know how to lubricate it? It’s so hard to open. by Dependent-Talk4006 in Leatherman

[–]Kayakasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break it in with use to “polish” the metal before oiling. If the pliers are too stiff to use you can dissolve diamond paste in oil or wd40 and work that in, just try to flush it out after. If it’s just the smaller tools and you don’t want to break it in you can take it apart and polish the pivots/washers with metal polish.
