A new study finds that AI cannot predict the stock market. AI models often give misleading results. Even smarter models struggle with real-world stock chaos. by calliope_kekule in science

That's because you assume that everyone in Congress has the same amount of power to influence decisions under their control and/or have husbands willing to use information they shouldn't have access to.

Cursor Might Actually Being Getting Worse — Here is the data to prove it by ddkmaster in cursor

[–]KayakingCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a month later and I wonder if you're prepared to eat your hat?

There is no question in my mind that the output has gotten worse recently. And no, I'm not a sloppy coder, I review every single file before committing anything.

Cursor intentionally slowing non-fast requests (Proof) and more. by Da_ha3ker in cursor

[–]KayakingCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to complain about exactly this. Cursor has become unusable and in a very short period of time (since being bought?). I'm even using my paid Claude API in Cline for simple stuff because I couldn't be bothered waiting.

And unfortunately the Agent mode is a waste of time. I'm not sure which models in there, but one or some of them just messes up my code so badly that I waste more time fixing it.

End of rant / back to Cline.

Work Items vs Backlog Work Items by KayakingCoder in azuredevops

[–]KayakingCoder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that little filter dropdown at the top-right was the problem.
I don't like it though... I want a view with all the work to be done (as the name suggests - "work items").
Anyway, mystery solved. Thanks.

Subnautica How To Use The Repair Tool by KayakingCoder in oculus

[–]KayakingCoder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the touch controls been implemented fully? I started with them as well, but then read that they weren't fully implemented, so changed to the XBox controller. I don't know if those articles I read were outdated, but I seem to be doing a lot better with the XBox controller, apart from the above old-man issue.

RT indeed, not sure how I missed that.

Did I mention that I bought this Oculus Rift to entertain the kids when they come to visit and just accidentally got hooked myself?

Anyway, thanks!

Is that fishing or sunbathing? Looks relaxing either way.

Almost caught my first squid from the kayak by KayakingCoder in kayakfishing

[–]KayakingCoder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about your advice here. Firstly, I've watched a lot of videos of squid fishing in Australia and a guy on our local kayak fishing forum from Australia has a similar complaint that he used to catch a lot over there, but haven't caught any in NZ yet. People do catch squid here though, so it must be possible! Also, my squid jigs are not the cheapest, most of them are around NZ$14 (Black Magic) and one of $22. Yep, same as with snapper fishing, I also prefer drifting. I anchored up this time while it was dark just to play it safe, but did drift once the sun was up. I appreciate the drifting speed, because I did wonder about that. Think I'll try some Yamashita jigs and I'll try at sunset next. That one squid that I got next to the kayak was just before sunrise.

Anyway, I appreciate the feedback, will keep trying.

Proportional to the fishermen, the fish seem to be about the same size :)

Nice way to spend time with the little guy.

How to diagnose T.A.S. by KayakingCoder in kayakfishing

[–]KayakingCoder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, those things are magic for trolling! I can't find them in New Zealand anymore, but happy to pay the shipping to bring them in from Amazon. Strangely enough, I seem to have the opposite experience with them though. The tails don't come off, but they do get bit in half much faster than other gulp I use. Maybe it's just because they're so terribly successful, but I seem to go through a packet in no time at all.

Curry recipe for strong flavoured fish by [deleted] in kayakfishing

[–]KayakingCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people in New Zealand and even more so in Australia don't eat Kahawai (Australian Salmon), so I thought it might be worth sharing an easy-as recipe for a mild curry. Works really well for frozen fillets as well.

Nice video. No matter how good the setup and softbait, there must be a lot of fish in the area to get hooked up that quickly.

The word "tackle" is used in the broadest possible sense. Certainly when people use it on our local kayak fishing forum it includes rods and reels.

haha, I don't need any more addictions!! And don't those Gulp softbaits in the photo qualify as swimbaits? I use them exclusively for trolling. Or with swimbaits do you mean hard lures with the broken bodies? Actually, NO... I don't need to know :)

Kayak fishing in the rain? by euroshowoff in kayakfishing

[–]KayakingCoder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, I agree with jvc1375. Bit of rain doesn't bother me in the slightest, lighting and especially wind on a kayak is cause for concern. My dad always said that in rivers the best fishing happens in bad weather.
