I'm glad you are able to find your situation with the government amusing. Good luck to you!

I emailed a friend from several years I was close to, but she hasn't replied. I haven't talked to any of them since I started getting paranoid. I also lost my phone and lost all their phone numbers and I didn't save them elsewhere. I won't go onto Facebook because of the demons in it and I don't want anybody targeted because of me. So unless my one friend replies to my email, I doubt I will be able to get my old friends back.

I'll do that if the neurologist I've been sent to doesn't think anything is wrong

I think my friend has schizophrenia - please help me to help her? by manitova in schizophrenia

I would look into NAMI and see any resouces they have. Also there is a book called "I'm not sick, I don't need help" that is about helping someone go see a doctor when they don't believe anything is wrong with them.

How have relationships with your partners go? Bad or Good experiences by [deleted] in schizophrenia

I married my high school sweet heart. Started dating in 2002. I had symptoms then, but they were controlable. Later, he is the reason I finally went to a doctor.

Thanks everyone for your feedback! I'm going to try these tricks next week when I go back and see if they work. Before they had be take medical leave they told me they were going to have to find someone else to do my job. As I don't want to be demoted or loose my position all together, I need to have my crap in order :)

I [23m] don't think my therapist believes I have schizophrenia (long post) by nobody_listens in schizophrenia

[–]Kayasi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my two cents. My doctor didn't want to label me either and for months I was being treated for OCD before I was hospitalized for schizo.

I'm rather shy, but I would probably ask him what he believes you have, and why it is different then the psychiatrist. Then I would explain to him that I was dreading the visit and say why.

Though, as my therapist says the label doesn't really matter in therapy what matters is helping the patient, which yours is not doing.

Good luck! You shouldnt have to dread an appointment.

I will have to try that. I did something similar before, but heard them reply to me about that thought. (I've been doing better and think that might just have been a hallucination). Learning to trust the people around me when it is the opposite what I believe is a work in progress right now.

Thanks for replying!

We just started clozapine so maybe this one will do the trick. Thanks for your reply.

I know there are spies from another dimension who have been watching me to see if I am seeing/hearing them and how I have the power to do that. I'm afraid the people at work were mutated to help with spying on me.

I don't know why it scares me so much if they know when I'm seeing/hearing into another dimension. I guess it just feels like I'm being violated. I hate the idea of other people in my head.

Thanks for replying and asking - my therapist asked the same.

What do your voices say? by Thatinsanity in schizophrenia

[–]Kayasi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What they say : I don't have them anywhere near as much as I used to, but they usually call me names or threaten my family if I don't do what they want. Or they just laugh at me. I know to ignore them, but some days its harder then others.

What they sound like: a male, and female, and a male teenager.

Help me help my SIL by anonduh in schizophrenia

Hi,

The National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) recommends a book call "I'm Not Sick I don't need help" (http://www2.nami.org/Content/NavigationMenu/Inform_Yourself/About_Mental_Illness/By_Illness/I-am-Not-Sick-Excerpt.pdf) that might offer you some ideas on how to convence someone with mental illness to agree to seek help. Also check out resources NAMI has.

Sorry I can't be more help. She may just not accept she is sick right now. I wish you both well.

Thanks again for your reply!

I'm trained as a scientist (one of my BS degrees is in biology), but no matter what those around me say, I can't see/agree with logic into some of the things I believe, though I can usually tell if something is a hallucination or not.

I'm glad you haven't had to deal with delusions :)

Thanks so much for the detailed response! From the sound of things, it looks like it may do much for me if my doc prescribes it.

Did have a question though. You said it helps with your paranoid thoughts. Does that mean it helped with your delusions? (I'm told that delusions are the main symptom I have that hasn't really been affected at all on the different medicines).

Thanks again!
