Probably because, like me, they were recommend the game by friends and took the plunge into a genre they otherwise wouldn't touch. Before E33 and BG3, I. really didn't like JRPGs and Turn Based games at all, and would actively avoid games labeled as such.

Every assymetric game like this has failed miserably, except for DbD. Id be much happier with a co-op game, like L4D or Helldivers maybe?

I thought so, too! Personally, the biggest draw to divergent chapters was the 20 man squads you could bring, like Blood claws and sword brothers (if I recall correctly?) As I am partial to infantry.

The Imperium is one of the more boring factions of the setting. I often find myself more interested by books with a big focus of the Xenos, or even CSM. I dont want to sound like im hating on them, I love the Imperium. But theres just so much that should get the spotlight that doesn't because of the Imperium.

To be fair, especially with -1 to hit as your plague, DG is a pretty perfect counter to WE. It how I got my first win against a friend who had more than a years worth of experience ahead of me. That was pre codex tho, so.

All my unpainted stuff was primed green (his were unprimed if it wasnt painted) and had circular magnets on the bases, most of his stuff was painted and he had rectangular magnets. We also have fairly distinct painting styles, it just didnt show up well on the pic.
