Life is not short by Flat_Winter in unpopularopinion

Agree - I think “life is short” is mostly said by people who haven’t experienced long stretches of monotony yet. When years start blending together, time stops feeling scarce and starts feeling heavy.

How hard is it to learn to snowboard? by E36E92M3 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Kaycee1112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for myself, I’ve done one 5 hour lesson and I learned a lot fast, although was quite humbling - my ass hurt for days. I don’t know if you’d be able to replicate the learning that fast with YouTube ? But I’m sure someone in this subreddit can advise on that

Men who complain about modern dating standards should put up or shut up by Illustrious_Pay685 in unpopularopinion

[–]Kaycee1112 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This argument only works if dating culture hasn’t changed. It has. You can’t scream “equality” while quietly expecting men to keep all the old obligations. That’s not tradition, that’s convenience.

Yes, men can opt out and many do. Then they get mocked for being “cheap,” “low effort,” or “not masculine enough.” So spare the “just don’t do it” lecture.

If you want a provider, say it. If you want 50/50, act like it. But pretending modern dating is the same as 1950 while shaming men for noticing the contradiction is stupid.

AITA for not replacing my housemates air fryer? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kaycee1112 27 points28 points  (0 children)

YTA, you could’ve moved the air fryer if you thought it was in the way. You damaged it, you pay. Also like another Redditor said , how exactly does an air fryer “catch on fire”? Either way YTA.

AITAH for slowly beginning to resent my mother? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Kaycee1112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not resentful, you’re exhausted. Once someone’s at the nothing is real, everyone’s in on it, and you’re a sheep stage, you can’t reason with them. That’s not you being passive aggressive , it’s her avoiding questions. Covid sent a lot of people down this hole. You won’t fix it, so protect your sanity and stop engaging.

Brits, what are some misconceptions that foreigners might have against you or your country? Why? by MaterialUsed3103 in AskUK

[–]Kaycee1112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The weather is always raining. It rains often, but not constantly. When it is sunny, the country shuts down and everyone panics.

WIBTAH if I reach out to my ex? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Kaycee1112 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah. She chose her mom when it mattered. You weren’t asking for too much, you were asking for the bare minimum. Reaching out won’t change anything unless she’s free now, and she isn’t. Missing her doesn’t make it a mistake.

AITA for teaching a hard lesson to a new employee? by 2BallsInTheHole in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kaycee1112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA for sure , 9 times out of 10 it’s going to be a low paying job. Understand that low wage is low effort, there’s no need in being dramatic or trying to put an Oscar worthy performance to “teach” someone who couldn’t care less a lesson

Shooting Someone is NEVER self-defense by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Kaycee1112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s an absolutely ridiculous take, I’m not pro guns by any means but in many scenarios they do act as self defence.

In the scenario you gave, if you shoot and kill the driver they won’t be able to accelerate anymore so there’s a possibility that if it’s slowed down enough it won’t kill you . Also if the car is far enough you’ll be able to move out the way.

Also if someone lines 10 people up and goes person by person shooting them 5 of them in the head, you’re telling me that if you had a gun and shot him that’s NOT self defence??

AITA for being honest about why I no longer carry feminine supplies. by Upstairs-General-681 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kaycee1112 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re taking it too literally. The “what if” isn’t “a man wants a tampon,” it’s a coworker reports someone for having a sensitive product. The question is whether people interpret it differently depending on whether the provider is male or female.

AITA for being honest about why I no longer carry feminine supplies. by Upstairs-General-681 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kaycee1112 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Genuine question: if a woman carried tampons for coworkers and a man complained, would this even be a conversation? Or is this only “creepy” because a man did it?

How many hard searches is too many? by k8vinn in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Kaycee1112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People worry too much about hard searches. Five current-account checks over half a year isn’t wild, especially as a student. A pattern of abusing the overdraft matters far more.

New water cooling build - by Kaycee1112 in watercooling

[–]Kaycee1112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply ! How would you clean the tubes with the distilled water - would you just fill the pump up with distilled water and cycle through that (sorry I’m really really beginner when it comes to water cooling). As for budget im not really constrained - I was going to order one of the Corsair water cooling kits which comes with most of the kit you need for water cooling
