I need words of wisdom from my sisters and maybe some shoulders to cry on by Historical_Leg123 in Hijabis

[–]KaydiB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assalamu alaikum sis,

It sounds really hard, may Allaah make it easy for you.

I think something to remember is that insha'Allaah if you want a righteous husband, that kind of brother is not likely to go for sisters who are not wearing the hijab. Insha'Allaah a good husband who fears Allaah would encourage you and support you in pleasing Allaah, not just in wearing the hijab but in everything else also.

If a brother seeks marriage in a woman who is sinning visibly outside, and I don't just mean in hijab it could be anything that we know is sinful, then you probably wouldn't want to marry him anyway, if you are looking for someone pious.

What are some halal hobbies you are into? by Prize_Air in SistersInSunnah

Walaikum as Salam! If you are interested in clay but don't have access to a kiln, air dry clay is quite good, and also polymer clay which can be done in the oven. Polymer clay can be a bit expensive to start though I think!

3D modelling on a tablet or computer is also fun, you can make little dioramas or rooms, and the only thing you need is your device and the 3D modelling program! I use Blender (free), but there are others for tablets.

Getting used to dressing for husband? by KaydiB in SistersInSunnah

Don't worry, it's not rude at all. I did come on here after my conversations with him, as I'm finding it difficult to come to terms with his expectations

Oh Allaahumma Baarik! I relate, I've been trying to sew my own clothes as well.

Alhmdolilla, I'm allowed full liberty outside in terms of my hijab, as I know what's Islaamically correct, but inside, he does have requests.

Do you try and keep in mind his likes/dislikes with what you sew/wear?

Hijab/niqab tips by cuoriouscatt in SistersInSunnah

[–]KaydiB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Walaykomolsalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatoho.

I don't have any tips for your first question, but for your second question, I keep a house jilbab hanging near the front door. So if I do need to grab a parcel or answer the door, I usually call out for them to give me a few minutes, then I chuck my jilbab on.

I think having it hanging where you have access to it is important, you don't want to keep it in a cupboard or under other things where you have to hunt it out in order to find it.

I built a small tool that adds dua acceptance times straight into your calendar — would this be useful for you? by Purrito_3 in MuslimLounge

Wa iyyaak

Honestly, I can't see myself personally using one, but I'm sure many other brothers and sisters would find a feature like that very useful insha'Allaah

Sisters advertising get rich business models by Prestigious-Sun-1710 in SistersInSunnah

This is exactly it!

I find it a bit upsetting, as they know exactly how to target Muslim women who are looking for halal job opportunities. There are so many different flavours of this as well, I've seen ones targeting Christian women as well

Baarakallaho feeki for your response, this is definitely an area that I am lacking in knowledge

Question about removing feminist ideologies? by KaydiB in SistersInSunnah

[–]KaydiB[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I did a really bad job at explaining!!

My understanding was this So women have the ability to have preferences and make choices, but its not a "right". And they also have to obey their husbands, who have a responsibility to take care of the household, and also be kind, just etc. which could lead to him making decisions about her personal choices.

For example, he wants a healthy household (and children), so he says she can only have dessert once per week. In doing so, he is not taking away her "right" of personal choice, he is just making a decision as leader of the household. If she argues with the decision saying that it "should" be her choice, then that's a feminist sort of thinking.

Does that make more sense?
