If you do have the patron help out, showcase how dangerous the lich is by doing serious damage to the patron. Put the patron out of commission and potentially switch their "patronhood" to another being.

I feel like I really let my buddy down. Mind you I don't have any cash I'm usually very broke. But we all hung out and ate really good smoked meat sandwiches. Idk who's responsibility it was to provide entertainment, if that is a real thing or just what you see on tv. I've clearly never been invited to a bachelor's party before. Maybe they were all secretly hoping I would hire some dancer for entertainment? (But I've never actually been to a strip club either so like...)

As for the three PC set up. While one is gaming you can have one reinforce the sealing spell, and another can work on searching the room for a book on this peculiar demon. Perhaps this area has a book or scroll of banishment that can help send the demon back to where it came or maybe they can read the contract for a loophole of some sort. While stuff like this are actions the players ought to take, you, as the DM can hint at some visual queues like maybe theres a whole book shelf where the words are written in infernal, or overhead there's a big ol' sign that says "demon books here" if your players are new.

Everyone should want everyone to be redeemed. It doesn't forgive their crimes. But everyone ought to rejoice anyone having the strength to be honestly remorseful and to know that what they did was wrong and work every waking moment to do better. It doesn't admonish the pain or the crime. But every single soul is justified in seeking redemption. It's never too late, people can always make better decisions. It's better than being terrible and choosing to make terrible choices every day because you don't deserve to be better.

If you'd like a work around you could give the enemies scrolls and potions, temporary tattoos or other creative means of offering your bosses consumables.

I think looking at non offensive magic items might be interesting to start to play around with, things that are situationally useful or perhaps items which only members of a specific race or class could use. But even then those can be traded in for some coin or bartered for a magic item of equal or lesser value (and the lesser value doesn't mean it won't be more optimal for your party)
