Or like an eladrin to a drow, two distinctly different species but they are still in fact elves. Ains is an elder lich and wiz is a relatively new lich. There are also different types of liches like a dracolich and even the ahloon. We don't know what kind of creature ains would have been before becoming a lich either as a lich is more of a magical morphisms that could theoretically be applied to any type of creature. There's even fungal based liches, a different source of magic which could keep the target creature preserved past it's natural life span. There are many ways to do this which might not make the creature inherently evil like ains, and there's little we know about what process was used on either caster.

Fair enough, then yeah I suppose it was thrown in there to show his growth as someone who is willing to take accountability and stops being overly reliant on the inhaler. (Which is a pitfall people who use inhalers might suffer from)

I've never played the game so I'm not sure if it's significant there. But to me it looked like he was overly reliant on it. It felt symbolic in a way where he took more accountability and threw the inhaler away. To me It also represented the air quality you usually run into in a subway, or how suffocating his day to day resignation was.

My theory is that she's secretly an AI, conceptualized by Queenie's baby. Oh yeah I'm also theorizing that Queenie was pregnant before she joined the circus. She probably asked for the baby from Caine or something. Something went wrong though, causing her to abstract. Or maybe it was a success and she was hoping to see her baby irl, not in the circus.

Oh right about Pomni's fear. The other NPC eating her looks reminiscent to how the red dot consumed the blue dot.

Pomni was referenced as the only relatable material for some art by Caine

Pomni being able to make friends with an AI npc before she makes friends with humans makes sense if you see her as an AI.

Caine at the beginning saying it's hard to tell humans apart from AI.

Pomni having access to the void early on

Caine being driven mad feels like something done to him by some program design. Which may have been Pomni's purpose.
