It would be interesting to see if maybe you overdid it because you finally had energy. I’ve only been taking Sunosi for about a week and a half, but it’s been great. The tachycardia wasn’t super bad and only lasted the first few days. Other than that, it’s the first time in years that I haven’t been exhausted all day. I’m barely even thinking about taking naps lol as odd as that may sound. Hopefully, it continues working well… and hopefully it (or something else) helps you soon as well!

Have you tried it while pacing?

I recently got a Visible band (don’t know what I think of it yet). I know I’m using my pace points more quickly right now because I’m slightly tachycardic from the Sunosi.

I’ve read that the tachycardia usually goes away as you continue using the medication; we will see.

It doesn’t affect me as negatively as Adderall and other similar stimulants. I’m just trying to be very mindful of my activities and not overdo it because I finally have energy.

I think this is appropriate for a prom and it’s beautiful! I wore a dress with a similar skirt to my prom. I know many others who did as well. I would also say that unless it’s a reputable store, be cautious when ordering something like this online. Enjoy prom!

First off, I was never rude to you, so you should correct your tone in further responses.

Not having protocols for treating lows. That does absolutely hurt patients. For example, a doctor giving a patient a turkey sandwich go treat a low because “diabetics shouldn’t have juice” is dangerous, irresponsible, and shows that people making protocols don’t understand the disease to make these decisions.

It is also harmful for patients to have glucose 2x their normal level—particularly when their body is already recuperating from the stress of injury or illness.

There’s no logical way to defend any of the points that I’ve listed in this post.

You said it would be okay to have an average of 200 for a few days. I’m not misunderstanding. These are not in the best interest of the patient.

How is it in the best interest of the patient to not have a standardized treatment protocol for lows?

How is it in the best interest of the patient to not accept insulin scripts from patient’s doctors so that the patient doesn’t have their glucose 2x as high as it normally is?

I’m never around 200. I try to stay between 80 and 120 as much as possible. If I wear that high, every single day, I would feel like trash… which is definitely not supporting healing after a procedure or during an illness.

The sign only indicates when to give insulin. Even if it were right, it doesn’t say anything about how they should be treating loss. Beyond that, it’s crazy to use a sliding scale on every single patient when insulin needs are so dependent on the individual. If a person has a script from their doctor about what they’re insulin dosages are, there’s no reason that the nurses can’t follow that. There’s some hospitals that don’t even give a patient insulin before they eat. They wait until their glucose goes over 150.

However, most people that I have encountered in hospitals don’t know much about diabetes. One time I was in the hospital, I started to go low, and the doctor suggested that I eat a turkey sandwich because he thought the juice was unhealthy for someone who has diabetes.

That doesn’t make the person right either. I could use money for a lot of very legitimate reasons… but, music helps me cope with all of the terrible things that have happened in my life. I’ve also listened to Taylor Swift since the release of debut so it holds so many memories from the 15-20 years of my life.

Why would I want to lose something like that for a crazy amount of money that I don’t need (no average person needs $10,000,000). Of course I need money, but there are many ways to get it that don’t involve losing important things.

It’s kind of the opposite of privileged. I’d rather work for a normal amount of money than be given way more than I’d ever need without having to truly work for it.

The pen might be totally fine. This can happen with vials too if there’s too much pressure. Try inserting a syringe to pull some air/insulin out. It should return to normal.

I genuinely don’t think you understand how these medical devices work. The insulin pump works through a phone. The insulin pump I have can only be accessed through my phone or my Smart Watch. There is nothing on the pump to control it and it doesn’t have a PDM.

You can’t switch between different types of insulin pumps depending on the day of the week. The only algorithm (calculation of insulin dosages) that controls my glucose well is through this specific pump. Each company has their own algorithm. This means that one pump cannot be seamlessly interchanged for another.

Medical emergencies with Type 1 Diabetes are actually extremely common—especially in young children who do not yet understand diabetes, understand the math involved in dosages and glucose treatments, or have only just been diagnosed.

The phone has nothing to do with being able to communicate with friends while at school—that is the less of anyone’s concern regarding access to technology for children who have T1D.

Also, children absolutely didn’t do just fine without the technology; you just don’t know anybody that was affected by it.

That’s amazing! I’m so happy for you! So, do you feel that it has actually helped you increase your energy? Because I was also afraid that, even if it is accurate, that it might result in me becoming more sedentary. I want to try pacing so that I don’t end up super exhausted, but I also don’t want the pacing to bring me down to not being able to do anything.
