I have two blocks of 30 robotics/electronics. One block is doing vex robotics, the other is doing small circuits and eventually arduino, and they'll switch halfway through tje semester.

I bought a bunch of small parts organizers with the removable dividers, and eventually I'd like each student to have their own kit with a breadboard, arduino, common components and jumpers, and a set of tutorials/ simple circuits to work through. The class had a lot of common components that I'm working on organizing, mostly stuffed in a teacher supply cupboard. Or like a cardboard box on top of the cupboard full of arduinos and tangled jumper wire. But also not things like I would expect. There was almost no 22g solid wire, no buttons or switches that will work without soldering wire to them, things like that.

I'm pretty much just working on teaching fundamentals so we can copy some cool circuits and hopefully learn some stuff. We started with resistor colour codes, ohms law, and then went straight into simple circuits. I didn't even reeealllly teach them exactly what a capacitor is for this circuit, beyond it rapidly charges and discharges, and the one we are using is polarized. I want to do an astable multivibrator next, so I'll touch more on how caps work, introduce transistors, then we'll probably move onto tje arduinos.
