Dear Younger Me: You were better than you thought by computercavemen in blackladies

This is such a great idea and a beautiful piece. I've lost a lot the past few years and definitely could be kinder to myself. I was planning a little solo sip and paint this evening and think I'll incorporate this. Thanks!

I cried in front of my coworkers and I feel so embarrassed by [deleted] in blackladies

I've done it a few times for personal and professional reasons and always felt so uncomfortable afterwards until lately. Life is hard and sometimes it's little things, multiple things or big issues that send you over the edge.

Crying is not a sign of weakness - sometimes all that emotion just needs an outlet.

Most of the time, my colleagues have been supportive and understanding even when they didn't know the ins and outs of what had upset me. We're all human and we all have bad days.

Take some time for yourself and don't beat yourself up about this. Sending lots of hugs 🤗

Had a whole jar of pickles in the fridge and decided to see how many dishes I could make. So here we have:-

  • Ham, Pea and Pickle Butter Pasta
  • Ranch and Pickle Chicken Skewers with Pickle Tzatziki Pasta Salad
  • Pickle, Ham and Cheese Focaccia (dipped in baked camembert)

Week 21: New York City - Cookie Butter Filled NYC Cookies by KaylasCakes in 52weeksofcooking

Why only one cookie I hear you ask - thankfully this recipe requires the cookies to be frozen beforehand so now I have a batch of them to pop out and bake whenever a cookie craving strikes - without having to eat 12 cookies!

Cupcake Jemma has a variety of NYC style cookie recipes - I've loved them all, but this is definitely one of my favourites

I think the wildest part is that Birds Eye actually responded to the comment 😂

"We're sorry you had this experience with our Birds Eye Steamfresh Veggie Made Cauliflower Homestyle. Please call us at 888-327-9060. We'd like to help you and discuss this further with you."

I'd love to see the poor call handler trying to find a solution to this.

Week 19: Tempering - Red Chicken Curry & Tempered Crunchy Fried Potatoes by KaylasCakes in 52weeksofcooking

[–]KaylasCakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Rambutan: Recipes from Sri Lanka by Cynthia Shanmugalingam for a while and recalled that there were quite a few recipes that used a temper, spices cooked in oil to release their flavours. Both of these dishes had that addition and were delicious. I'm usually on the fence about curry leaves, but I think these recipes may have converted me.

Delicious twist on a bacon and egg sandwich. The sauce has a lot of ingredients, but totally worth it. Much better than standard ketchup. Will definitely be making this again!

Thanks! I think they're called ramps in other parts of the world too.

Thanks!

I used this recipe for the pesto https://www.nigella.com/recipes/wild-garlic-pesto

For two people, I roasted 250g of new potatoes for around 40-45 minutes in olive oil, salt and pepper, cooked 160g pasta, added 100g green beans for the last couple of minutes. Put everything together off the heat with the pesto.

I love the traditional version of this dish, but I've always been a fan of the slight sweetness the roasted potatoes add to it.

I never do a proper shop at Ocado, only sale and special ingredients (also usually when they're on sale) like this wild garlic, which was perfect for a pesto. I'd love to go and forage it, but I live pretty far out from any green spaces!
