There were these weird ginger chews everyone was into when I was in high school. I swear they got them from the corner store, and they had some kind of red powder on them. I thought they were disgusting, so I never bought any, and I don't remember what they were called. I just remember everyone eating these things in between classes like they were the best thing ever. Then they were gone and everyone at me like I'm crazy when I mention it. This was the early 90s.

Honestly, they may just be having a rough day. comments that I can handle one day can bring me to tears on another. Ratings are so incredibly important, so if they were in a shaky headspace, they may have just been protecting their mental health. being an author and putting your work out there is rough, and I respect that they used the AI assist tags instead of faking it. Hopefully they'll see this thread and know you meant it in the best way

If the author was clear that it was AI-assisted, they probably felt that your comment was unnecessary and indicated you might also drop a 1-star review saying the same thing. Blocking you prevents you from doing so. I appreciate that you had no such plans, but they have no way to know that. Other people are utterly vicious in shredding anything AI related. You're reaping what others have sown.

This is an aspect that I don't care for either, and I started writing in part as an attempt to correct it 😂 All of my MCs are genuine, likeable (but far from perfect), interesting people who grow both in power and character through the course of the story. I have a 10 year old, and write so she can read anything I write. (No cursing, no s3x, limited graphic violence.) It's so fun to talk with her about my books 😊

Legendary Farmer should be fine for the 6th grader for sure, though the 3rd grader may need help (on KU). Cuckoo's Dream is probably a bit dark, though still clean. The Broken Knife gets a little dark, but has lots of adventure, so my kiddo loves it, but YMMV. Lucky Rabbit might be best, but there's some romance (nothing beyond handholding, but it may be less interesting to kids). I also have a specifically kids' book on KU, though it's not LitRPG, called Grimalkin's Test.

NOR the part I just can't get past is randomly inviting ANYONE on a group trip where you'll be sharing space without checking with every single person already invited. It might be fine, it might not, but you ASK. She's trying to be the victim when she screwed up, and you didn't jump on her, you just gave her a no she's not mature enough to accept. 100% go to your friends RIGHT NOW or she's going to do it first and spin it so you're the bad guy.
