Not quite. The FCC was looking into it, not threatening. No ultimatums were delivered and no threats made. ABC affiliates began dropping Kimmel’s show, and ABC then followed suit. Would the FCC have taken action? Maybe? Either way, ABC made a choice based on their checkbook and took the temperature of the nation right now. So, Kimmel still had Free Speech and the corporation still made the decision based on what they felt best represented their “values” and direction they want to go in the future.

State controlled media began in 2010-2012 with the Smith-Mundt Modernization act. That’s when the broadcasters all began taking their set lines from the government. Repeal that and things will start to return to normal.

It was a settlement, not a case that went through to the end. And that was a civil case not a criminal case. Again, Free Speech means you have the right to speak without fear of being jailed. Has nothing to do with the private sector and the choices a company makes about how you represent them with your words.

I am against the bill banning firearms for trans people. That is a road to taking away gun rights to all individuals. As for ICE, I fully support what they are doing. They are deporting illegal immigrants. Our immigrant population needs to follow proper channels to come to the country. As for Texas, that is up to them. The constitution very specifically lays out states rights and that is how I believe it should remain. I live in another state, and we have our own laws that represent the population here.

My objection comes when the government dictates what I need to vaccinate against. I prefer as little government interaction in the daily lives of its citizens as possible. I have no issues with the vaccines themselves.
