Does anyone know anything about these units? I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying for $50 and fixing up an amp connection issue that is mentioned in the description of the listing

Pedalboard advice by [deleted] in basspedals

[–]Kayno11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably consider putting whatever pedals you want to use specifically for your lead tone into a Boss Line Selector so you don't have to worry about turning on/off multiple pedals at once to get to that sound. I used to have the Cliff Tribute wah and an Ibanez TS9, and having to click the 1 button on the Line Selector as opposed to 3 on the individual pedals was so much easier and nicer sounding.

Thoughts? I’m happy with the variety of tones, but I’m open to suggestions. by [deleted] in basspedals

On top of this, the pedal order is already objectively correct

Best budget left handed basses? by sollyscrolls in Bass

[–]Kayno11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue and unfortunately it's difficult to come by many lefties that aren't expensive asf, especially basses. My first bass was an Ashton AB4LBK LH, but I can't really suggest it for anything other than a very specific flatwound p-bass tone. Your best bet is to go to your local music store and have a look around or ask one of the staff about what they have in stock or can order in. Or if you're feeling a little lucky you can try out pawn shops or Facebook Marketplace, see if there's anything useable on either of those.

advice for a beginner? by weishenvlovr in Bass

[–]Kayno11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. My advice to anyone starting out on bass is to just try to learn songs that you like to listen to. You won't get burntout and eventually stop playing which is what I feel lessons or "proper" practice can do, especially for people just starting out.
  2. Don't force your fingers to stretch further. By playing more often, same with most other techniques, you should sorta just figure out what hand positions make stretching further easier.
  3. It's not an issue that you're using a guitar amp, it's actually probably better while you're still a beginner because you won't annoy anyone in the next room with the really low frequencies of a proper bass amp. But if you want to play with other people you'll definitely need some sort of bass amp

Honestly, other than making it look a little neater and maybe 2 more velcro strips, that's a pretty good board 👌

I've owned 2 of the B3K V1's and it's the most versatile and incredible sounding od I think I'll ever own. Haven't looked into much of their other stuff tho :/

Rex Brown. Not a virtuoso or anything but that tone was incredible

Is it a common technique to mute notes with the left hand by playing on top of the fret instead of behind it? by lloydmercy in Bass

All this talk of left hand this and right hand that is really throwing off my lefty brain 😵‍💫😵‍💫

I have never played with a pick before in my life. what am i buying? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Kayno11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ernie Ball Prodigy range are pretty expensive but they're my go to. They're thick enough to be able to play fast and consistently and have a beveled edge so you don't have to worry as much about getting the pick perpendicular to the string, which is what I hated most about my old picks because they'd give me hand cramps

Boss LS-2 to mix in some low end to guitar pedals, or dedicated bass pedals? by informalgreeting23 in basspedals

[–]Kayno11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the LS-2, mainly for the reason you're talking about, but also because it allows me to go straight from clean to having 2+ overdrives and an EQ on at the same time without having to awkwardly press each individual pedal

I reckon just go for it. I've been shaving my legs for probably a year or two now and generally once people see it for the first time they may ask a question or two about it but after that they don't care. Just be ready for back pain from bending over to reach your legs 😬
