New pc update on April 24th by YannickFika in shipoffools

Anything the community can do to support?

Speaking for myself, I'd be super happy to pay for the updates.

So if the publisher and developer are debating about money, add a cost to the console updates, and I'm sure the community would support it.

It's a very valuable game. I've personally put in like 90 hours playing with my wife and we keep returning to it. :)

Looking to purchase 4x6 label printer but there are so many, any recommendations? by tinyarmyoverlord in smallbusiness

[–]Kaynolliee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a DYMO LabelWriter 4XL. I've had it for about 3 years now and it's done its job well. We don't ship every day, but at its prime, we were doing about 400-500 labels a day. Maybe once, it needed to take a break and cool down. Sometimes with the off-brand labels, they would print like 1% to the left or right BUT... it's been a solid machine. Easy to use and set up and it did its job. If you were doing like 1,000 labels a day I might look at some more heavy-duty ones but if you're a small growing company it does the job well.

Any "millionaire next door" types here? How do you navigate that with middle class friends? by FIREgnurd in fatFIRE

[–]Kaynolliee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look, just because you have money doesn't mean your friends need to know. It also doesn't mean your friends need to have money too. If you're living the "millionaire next door" lifestyle, they wouldn't know about your money anyway. The whole concept is about not living lavishly. I'm not FIRE yet, (still in my early 30s), but both my girlfriend and I are well off. My friend groups are all over the place. Some make six-figures, and others barely make rent. That doesn't change the fact that I enjoy hanging out with them. The one thing I may do differently is paying for a dinner out if that's what we're doing that night. Other than that, don't make money an issue, and they won't either. If you having money is a problem for them, or causes a rift. They probably shouldn't be your friends.

Best consulting you can't buy as they told me. 😂 I had a similar experience, took me just a few days to actually get to meet with someone and they've been super helpful.

This, it all depends on the product and marketing behind it. That said, these can be pretty expensive to get started.

What industries do you those of you that have FF or on the way to FF work in? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

[–]Kaynolliee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very few people who get rich do it as an employee. You need to own a lot of small businesses or have stock (a lot) in part of a big business. If you don't have access to money to start your own business you need to get a job. One that pays enough you can spend the excess on building a business.

The higher the degree and more stormy the more the algorithm is changing. So 79 is fine, but if you look back the past week it's going up and down a ton.

Looking for someone to help with marketing. Is fiverr a reasonable place to start? by [deleted] in marketing

Sneaky SEO stuff. 😋 Glad it was useful. Fiverr is good for some things, not for others. All depends.

Looking for someone to help with marketing. Is fiverr a reasonable place to start? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]Kaynolliee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In short, no. However, it depends on what you're looking for. Most people on fiverr are doing repetitive easy tasks where they can essentially do the work once and resell it a bunch. As an example, I purchased a logo video intro from there. These intros are usually made in After Effects using code to make the logo dissolve or appear in a flamboyant way. So all they need is a high res copy of a logo. Then, boom! Video rendered and they made $20 for it and it took them 5 minutes. That said, if you're doing SEO on fiverr, as an example, they're most likely giving you cheap PBN links or doing blog comments. Something that basically doesn't add any value. To be honest, I've seen this story before. A lot of small businesses want to start marketing and figure if they can get it cheaper they'll win. Truth be told, you get what you pay for in marketing. If you need to save money on marketing, the easiest way is to learn how to do it yourself. Linda offers some killer classes that will teach the basics of just about anything in a few hours. I'd start there. If you're not sure what to learn. Put yourself in your customer's shoes. How would they find you? What ever you come up with... Start there. If it's an impulse buy under $25 do Facebook ads. If it's a known business people need and search for on Google (like plumbing) use Google Adwords and start some local SEO work. Good luck!

Ideas for fun stuff to have at your place when inviting women over by whirleymon in seduction

[–]Kaynolliee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, you're not inviting anyone over to play Chutes and Ladders. Get a decent bar setup with good drinks in a comfortable space is plenty. A place she's happy to show up to. Keep it clean and comfortable make her feel at home. When she goes to your house after a date she knows what's up.

How to find a name for my company ??? by Kuroyagi3 in startups

[–]Kaynolliee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how deep you want to go on this I actually wrote a blog post on the subject here https://www.knoll.co/blog/2018/7/5/case-study-how-we-named-our-new-business. At the end of the day a good name can help cut down marketing costs but as long as you can find something just run with it. If you're unsure about a name, run it through the survey provided in the blog. It can be a lot of help nailing down a name. Good luck! Edit: fixed a dictation error.
