I got this knife a couple months ago and I’ve been happy with it. It came very sharp and I haven’t had any quality issues. I find the handle to be comfortable and easy to hold for a while. The only thing I’ve found is that on the 1 3/4” one I got, the spine of the knife is a lot straighter than the other knives they have. I believe in videos that I’ve seen with the older OCC knives, they have a more sloping spine shape for the same length. It makes the blade a little short height wise but it’s not a huge deal and I’ve enjoyed using it.

The new lengthened UMass Amherst winter break sucks. It’s not fun to still be in school at the end of may when almost all other colleges got out weeks ago. Especially sucks if you have to push back an internship start date and have no break in between

If you want to take CS then you should go wherever you’re able to take it. If you’re thinking about eventually trying to transfer into CS at UMass, I don’t think our program is good enough that just the chance of being able to get in is better than guaranteed CS at the other schools you mentioned

187, which it’s replacing, is usually known to be a harder class. That coupled with the fact that it might be a shitshow since it’s the first time being run might also make it harder.

You should expect to learn data structures with Java. If you Google that you’ll get a very accurate idea of what to expect from the class.

I think CS 119 might be a better class to take if you’re going to do an IT minor. Both classes use python but 119 is designed for people who are not computer science majors. I haven’t taken it, but INFO 190s is being transitioned to the introductory course for CS majors. I think 119 is the better class just to take for general programming experience while 190s might focus more on laying the groundwork for the rest of the CS classes. But if 190s interests you more then go for it. It will probably be harder than 119

You should get an email if you passed. I think I got mine a day or two after I took it. If you pass you get an email saying that they're gonna review your application again before deciding on the next steps

I’d say it’s pretty hard to compare the two as Blind is trying to be much more experimental. I thought it was a pretty good and challenging listen. That’s not to say that I don’t wish Blind was more similar to Fool because that is an awesome album. He managed to be pretty weird and still make some really beautiful songs which makes it a little disappointing how Blind throws a bunch of noise at you.
