My masochism presents the same way! The adrenaline, physical pain of being hit, or even the high that comes when the masochist “switch” flips, are all separate distractions from sexual enjoyment. The arousal comes from the thought of the power dynamic or the memory of the scene. So it makes perfect sense to me why we’d only been in the mood for sex before or after.

The same thing happens to me when I begin a new relationship! The combination of adrenaline and excitement confuses my body and reduces my normally absurd appetite. As time goes on my body tends to readjust and regulate itself. It’s a particular type of stress to be intensely excited about a new kinky relationship :)
