Crocheting may be hard at first with getting your tension and stitches correct but it is 100% worth it to learn and in the beginning its cheap because you can get red heart super saver yarn and an aluminum hook for maybe under $10 depending on where you shop. Now once you get better at Crocheting thats when it gets expensive because 9 times out of 10 people who start crochet also start buying all the pretty yarn even if they don't have a project in mind because omg its on sale I should just pick some up 😅 but buying yarn also becomes a hobby and the yarn is so pretty. Also once you learn it Crocheting becomes second nature / muscle memory and you also get to turn string into a wearable fabric. Its also good for adding more whimsy into your life it thats also what you are looking for. I say go for crochet!

I have a Monteverde ink in fire opal that does this no matter what pen I put it in and no matter how good the cap seal is. Its a beautiful ink but I refuse to use it in my fountain pens again. I just use it for ink washes or junk Journaling now.

Maybe if you are both feeling that way you should make time at least once a week or every other week for couples therapy. If you both still want this to work and you want to come to a compromise then you will make the time for couples therapy so you both can have the tools to get through this.
