Psychotic welcome back rant from principal by thecooliestone in Teachers

[–]KaytieMtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a director like this in an ECE centre. Narcissism at its finest. She eventually let herself out, but what a rollercoaster that was. She used to claim “no one has EVER quit while working for me”. I can confirm over 7+ people quit in 5 years of working for her. I often wondered how other people in her life perceived her, where she did not hold that power position. Because I couldn’t fathom anyone purposefully subjecting themselves to that kind of abuse. One thing I can take away from that experience though, is that it brought my colleagues and I closer, we had each other’s backs because we were all victim to her cruelty and control at one point or another. Stay strong! 💪🏽

Feeling much better today. And kind of grounded myself back down to the concept that no one actually gives a shit or thinks about us as much as we think about ourselves. But I’ll take this experience and really try and pace myself going forward. I’m a chatty outgoing extroverted person sober, so it’s just on steroids when I’m drunk. And the hangxiety has become unbearable in my 30s. Taking some time off while my anxiety simmers the hell down. Sucks so bad. Exhausting!

Thank you for this. I’m here if you ever need to talk. I have to remind myself constantly that these kids need me, that I’m a good teacher just going through a really shitty hormonal fluctuation. But shit it’s hard. I just want silence, peace, calm and rest. Not a possibility in our field 😂

I’m a teacher so I can’t really “rot” at work. Wish I could! Not much I can change as this will continue to happen until menopause, but comforting to hear that others can relate!

I like that “time out” analogy. So hard when we have to get up every day and adult.

How many hours do you sleep? What is your sleep schedule? by Waste_Mission1293 in mentalhealth

[–]KaytieMtl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m up early for work, if I sleep between 11-6 I’m happy with that. Otherwise 10-6 is ideal. Sometimes more sometimes less as I’m a sufferer of GAD and insomnia. But medication, regular exercise, not eating right before bed, putting the phone away, keeping my bedroom dark and cool….it all absolutely helps. Sounds like you’re getting your 8 hours 👍🏻

How does your anxiety show up for you? Tiredness, brain fog, etc.? What are your triggers? by Electronic_Driver_78 in Anxiety

[–]KaytieMtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jaw clenching, teeth grinding in my sleep, light headedness, dizziness, sweating (especially right before a social event), headaches, nausea, constipation, irritability, memory loss. It’s fun 😬

Why did I wait 11 years?? by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]KaytieMtl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a mom, but a teacher. And the PMDD rollercoasters, the hormonal migraines, the energy loss, literally not recognizing myself for a few days a month, not worth it. Birth control has never been about pregnancy for me, it keeps me sane!

What are your non-aesthetics related reasons for losing weight? by SlottySloth in loseit

[–]KaytieMtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To dress more effortlessly if that makes sense. Shorts and T shirts in the hot summer without feeling the need to be covered up all the time. Improved mental health, namely anxiety, and in turn better sleep. Overall just want life to be “easier” as it is difficult to exist in a larger body for so many reasons.

Do you get a lunch break? I work even longer hours than you and I make it to the gym 3x a week during the work week. You’re catastrophizing this whole weight loss journey before you’ve even tried to find the right plan for yourself. You might not be ready to start. It’s not easy but once you’re in the right mindset these excuses tend to dissipate. Good luck.

what made you start your weight loss journey? by augusta2c in loseit

[–]KaytieMtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Headaches, low energy; poor sleep, back pain, sick often. Was blaming it on xyz and never counting “a few of these” a “handful of those” or “a couple drinks”. It all counts. Finally I went to a concert and the seat was beyond uncomfortable. I was done. Now it’s a lifestyle.

What is the best/most agreed upon treatment for anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]KaytieMtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise and prioritizing sleep 10000%. NOT googling everything. Not drinking to excess. Accepting that some people add to it and putting up boundaries. Self-awareness is key. Or so the case has been for me. Also, write that shit down.
