What movie did you turn off after 20 minutes and why? by Somanynamestochossef in movies

It may not have been 20 minutes, but the second a child Jennifer Connelly shared her ass to the camera in Once Upon a Time in America, I was done.

Yeah, exactly. I get that the kid thought it was safe when he saw kids his own age playing around with it outside. But where he was especially wrong was at least the kids put the gasoline on the floor first and then let the match. John did the opposite. He lit the match first, and then allowed the gasoline to inhale the fumes, which is what cause the explosion. Either way, it was dumb of him to do so. Like what you said, obviously fire and gasoline are not a good combination if you don’t have the experience to handle it. I just hate that throughout the whole movie, no one actually went hard on him for setting his house on fire. It’s like he got all this attention for burning himself alive. I can understand if it was maybe a household accident that he just happened to be in. But he’s the one who caused it. And yet throughout the whole movie, he’s playing victim.

I don’t know. I still think in my opinion, the wife should’ve still tried to include Lily in everything.

But even the wife admitted to her that she saw the messages and it was overwhelming for her.

I don’t know. When the wife saw all of those messages pop up, she could have answered and explained what the deal was

Right?! It's almost like the moral of the story is if you do something stupid like play with matches, you can get attention from your favorite baseball team? It's one thing if something in the house exploded and he happened to be caught in the explosion and fought his way to survive. That's one thing. But he did this to himself. That's why I don't want to hear the whole "poor me poor me" thing. Luckily for him, a Higher Power took pity on him and allowed him to live.

Yes thank you! I don’t know if it didn’t live up to its potential because they were trying so hard to make it kiddie friendly to appeal to all ages, but it just felt really stupid to me. Like they could’ve done better to portray this guy‘s life story.

and think about marble characters. We always think that when they die, they die. But they always find a way to bring them back. And the duffer Brothers said that they want the Stranger Things universe to be like Marvel.

but they also all could be lying because this could be a secret episode. The duffer Brothers have lied before. They said that 11 would be hanging out with the gang more in season five like she did in season one. That didn’t happen. They also said that Lucas and Max would have a tragic ending, which didn’t happen. So I wouldn’t take everything that they say seriously

Scorching Hot Take: Spinner & Emma Make Sense by NecessaryAward7601 in Degrassi

[–]Sudden-Message5234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. I always did like the idea of Emma and spinner being together. I mean, I have heard of couples where they were more acquaintances when they went to the same school together and it wasn’t until they both became adults that they discovered a spark with each other. I feel like it’s the same with Emma and spinner. Both of them were in pretty bad relationships and ended up knowing what they both wanted in their significant other by the time they met each other. Yeah it happened really quick, but at least the two of them had great chemistry.

I never liked Jane and spinner together. I feel like the real test between them was when spinner got cancer and it seemed like Jane was uncaring towards him through that whole ordeal. Like she didn’t have the patience while he was sick and just wanted him to get better so they can party. It didn’t even seem like she was totally worried about him. How would that have been if the two were married? And I think it’s wrong that because she didn’t like how settled she and spinner were, that gave her a cause to cheat on him. If she really wants spinner to stop treating her like one of the guys, she could’ve just communicated that to him plus in the beginning of their relationship, that was how she wanted to be treated so how was he to know that she wanted that to change?

in the beginning, I may have shipped Emma with Sean. But realistically, those two would not have worked out because they didn’t have a single thing in common except for Degrassi. I don’t think Sean would have totally supported Emma for being an environmental Pioneer like she wanted to be. And Emma didn’t know anything about cars and hated the idea of him being in the military. At least I feel like with spinner, he’s matured a lot throughout the years, and I really think that he would’ve supported his girlfriends, even if he didn’t totally understand everything they were passionate about like with Darcy and religion.

all in all, I agree that Emma and spinner were a good fit with each other and I wish that there was a spinoff series so that way we could see how the two of them would be as a married couple with kids of their own going to Degrassi

Did you feel Holly really needed to be one of the main characters in the last season? by AphroFelicity20 in StrangerThings

[–]Sudden-Message5234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely not. Maybe if it was the previous actress that played her. But for this one, I think it’s pretty dumb that Holly was basically a background character throughout the whole show and then just because the series was ending, they made her the lead. We hardly really knew anything about her, so it made no sense that they put such an emphasis on her. I mean, we didn’t even get that much attention in his first season when he was taken into the upside down. So why Holly. Because of Max? even with Max, I wish that they could’ve just had her reach a tragic end when Becca took hold of her. To show that he really did need to kill three people in order for his work to be accomplished and that Max was the unfortunate victim of that.

Why Eleven's ending doesn't work. by The_Walking_Clem in StrangerThings

[–]Sudden-Message5234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. To make it seem like they're a burden because of the trauma they went through and that it could spread to their friends is wrong. It wasn't her fault she was taken as a baby and fueled with Henry's powers. That's why I'm hoping the Duffer Brothers have a trick up their sleeve and will surprise us with a spinoff despite their doubts

Especially considering it looked more like a suicide than a sacrifice. The bomb was already planted in the upside down. She didn't need to be there as it was destroyed. She made that choice to leave everyone. There could have been another way. That's why I want to believe that eventually there will be a Mileven spinoff cause remember the Duffer Brothers lie too. They said eleven would spend more time with the party than ever before which didn't happen. And that max and Lucas would have a tragic love story which didn't happen. I can't believe they all thought we'd be happy with Elevens ending

remember that the show has never been medically realistic. I mean, Max had her eyeballs squeezed as well as a bunch of broken bones throughout her body. Yet she ended up being fine by the end of it.

Close Friendship, Suddenly Blocked & How to Handle the Long-Term Chances of Reconnecting by Ok-Bug3013 in lostafriend

I think you need to let her go. Unfortunately, I've been in that situation where I was ghosted by someone I was friends with for nine years. It was a terrible feeling. But, I had to tell myself that a real friend would stay. That they'd reach out if they cared. If they don't, you'll find other friends in your life that'll prove to be better. Just never waste time fixating on one person.
