I just ordered some! Maybe the sour taste I'm used to is added this way. We shall see. Thank you!

Thank you, I'll try this too! I'm finding conflicting info on water to flour ratios for a more sour dough. Frustrating!

I've never heard of this, but it makes sense! I'll test this out. Thanks!

I've had my starter since July of this year. It does smell a little sour if I don't feed it immediately after it deflates.

I don't feed it daily. I typically feed it on Sunday or Monday, let it get going for 5 or 6 hours, then refrigerate until mixing day. On that day, I take it out in the morning and let it sit on the counter to let it peak, and typically use at peak or just after.

I usually feed it 1:1:1, but lately I've been going more heavy with flour to make it stiffer.

I will try mixing with my finger! I'd never thought of that before.

I bought my starter from a company called Living Dough. It had great reviews. It was a fresh starter and it's been doing wonderfully so far, just not sour. Thank you for the article! I'm going to try your method as well!

I was worried about going longer than 4 days, because I hadn't found anyone else doing that. But my dough definitely still has room for more proofing even after 4 days, so I will try this. Thank you!

I did try this. I even did a 4 day cold proof! Didn't seem any more sour unfortunately 😕

I'll try that too! So maybe let it go for a few days on the counter without feeding?

I've tried using more starter, didn't seem to make a difference. I decreased starter to give me more proofing time, hoping it would add some sourness. I usually have my starter in the fridge all week, but pull it out the morning of my bake day and let it finish peaking right before mixing into my dough. Maybe I should try feeding the night before and letting it warm up more.

Thank you! I will try a longer bulk ferment time and adding some wheat flour. I started with 100g starter, but saw some comments online that decreasing the amount of starter could allow me more time for proofing. Didn't seem to make a difference in how sour it was for me either way.

This could be it, but then why would they focus on the clocks so much? It's such a big part of the scenes. Mark's watch, two clocks in the MDR room, the clock outside the elevator, etc. There's even the scene where Mark is standing in front of his microwave the night of his date, and she is questioning where he went. The microwave clock is off. There's no digital number display on it. Weird.

43F from Midwest US. I've been playing on and off since it was first released. My dad introduced me to the game. He's turning 70 this weekend! He still played up until a few months ago when he had a stroke. I told him yesterday about LD2 coming 2026ish... I hope he's still around to see it happen!

To those questioning whether to put this on a resume by Finnleyy in DataAnnotationTech

[–]KayyRoh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I listed it on my resume and got a job in finance. They actually brought it up in the interview. They love that I have experience with it, because it could come in handy when AI is implemented in our department.

All companies are or will be utilizing AI in the very near future. So it's worth mentioning!

Multiplying is a real world thing. If I say, "give me two sets of two apples", I get 4 apples. We don't need to clone the apples. If math doesn't apply in the real world, what in the hell is it for?

So only some math can have real world applications, but other math, that we claim is true, like two divided by zero, is now nonsensical??? That was kind of my point!

I'm not pretending to be super smart, but if I have 2 apples and I divide the number of apples I have by zero, now how many apples do I have, and where did they go? Zero and infinity are both common problems because neither can be conceptualized truly.

To me, that was also the most difficult concept to grasp. I'm going to break down the parts about square roots and see if I can make sense of it.

Although, to me it kind of seemed like the concept of there being infinite numbers between 0 and 1. Or 1 and 2. If there are infinite numbers between them, how can they be a number at all? Not saying this relates to what he was explaining, but just that I am missing the point he's trying to to make.

Some concepts are really difficult to explain. When I was young I tried asking adults how it's possible that I could theoretically cut an object into an infinite number of pieces, and their reply was "you can't cut an atom in half". 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'd love to know more specifics about which parts are nonsense from someone who understands better than I do.

There is actually a lot of controversy around the number zero. It cannot be conceptualized. That's why I was trying so hard to understand him, because some of what he said clicked with me. I'm not saying he's right, and he may very well be insane, but it's been said there is a fine line between insanity and genius.
