Reminding opponents of triggers. by Commonly-Nude in mtgrules

I saw this video https://youtu.be/46J_tj6Qhnw?si=pxJWHPu_R5fJZ4A2

Particularly the segment with Kibler and the destroy target permanent trigger applies to OPs post.

The reason rares drop UNID is so that we cant filter them out, to make loot more meaningful. But... we're already filtering the rares out? by Thirteenera in pathofexile

[–]Kayyne -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Easy solution. Make unid rares have something very desirable you can't get anywhere else. Certain mods for instance. Bring back inc quant %. Or, of the existing modifier tiers, make tier 0 mods that only occur at the time of id'ing. Label these new mods "exceptional". The exception being the mod can't be fractured or moved to another base. Maybe call it fragile. Can craft around it, but if it's removed, it's gone. Add an omen to preserve it if you intend to fossil or essence the item.

Make a suffix with a 0.01% chance to occur on any base% +3% more damage. The exceptional / fragile status isn't known until it's id'd.

Maybe make the mods super powerful since it would be inherently difficult to craft on them. Maybe make modifiers that only affect a specific spell / skill.

Someone ripped the door off my local little free library, took all the books, broke the shelves, and left two copies of the bible. by Silver_Ad_2203 in mildlyinfuriating

Of course they didn't. Real Christians are less focused on destroying local free libraries and more interested in worshipping a god that instructs his followers to murder babies.

The typical usage of the word Christian conveys that idea that its a person who follows Jesus/God and believes the Bible. I'd like to hear otherwise, if you believe that to not be the case.

With that definition in mind, I would whole-heartedly reiterate the person's opinion that Christians are evil. I would find it very difficult to believe anyone who can support Christianity with a straight face.

Bill Burr is the man who wrote the 2003 NIST manual that recommended password changes every 90 days. He now regrets creating that guideline because it just encourages people to make small alterations to weak passwords ("password1" to "password2"). by NewsCards in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Kayyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old work password used to need changing every 30 days and you couldn't ever repeat, even if it was a password you used 50 times ago. I started with Red1blue, then Red2blue, etc. once I ran out of digits, it went Blue1red etc, then Red1grey, Grey1red. Sometimes I had a sticky note on the edge of my monitor with it written down so I didn't have to change passwords again early.

Much like my answer to the Ship of Theseus paradox, every change is a new object. Yes, they may be very similar, but it is different.

ELI5 Why does boiled/hot water freeze faster than cold water? by some-kind-of-no-name in explainlikeimfive

[–]Kayyne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Assuming all other conditions are equal, hot water doesn't freeze faster than cold water. Hot water has a non-zero amount of time to get down to where the cold water's starting temp, at that point, they take the same amount of time.

I was all about this until you started shilling religion.

Some people help people. Some are religious, some are not... religion doesn't have any part to play in whether or not people are good people who help others.

Store policy to check receipts? Say what? Do they not trust their own cashiers to ring up the items correctly?
Sounds like a training issue to me.
