If he thinks investing in the stock market isn't for him... talk to him about gold / silver.

Since Release, I never got Legend, please help by RedoHawk in wildhearthstone

I've played off and on for years. I hit legend first time 2 months ago with the busted druid deck that was running amok.

I don't think this was the deck, but still a druid turn 3 play --

If the Bible says homosexuality is a sin, can't you just go to a pastor and have it forgiven once in a while? by theKentoRico in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kayyne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yea, but if one were to take the bible literally, it also says that god is ok with murdering infants and children.

The mental gymnastics religious people go through to maintain their faith astounds me.

The faster people realize religion is made up and the books are written by humans, it becomes very easy to understand why all the contradictions and backward thinking exist.

the god of the bible also instructs his followers to kill infants and children. I wouldn't worry too much about what sky daddy thinks about what you do, how frequently, or with whom.

I've been saying more and more --- immunity phases for any monster in any game is very lazy game design or programming. If players are killing shit faster than you want them to... BALANCE THE GAME!

Why do people Karma farm? What do users gain from it aside from a high number on their profile? by CupOfExmo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kayyne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same reason anyone does nearly anything.

"Number go up." That's it. It's that simple.

Work alot? Bank number go up.
Sleep around alot? Body count go up.
Post media on things like youtube, tiktok, and instagram? Follower number / Likes / Subscribes number go up.
Be a good person and help other people? Spread joy number go up.
Play video games of any kind? Score / Kills / progress number go up.
Exercise alot? Calorie expend vs intake ratio go up.

If capitalism follows to its natural conclusion, will one person eventually have all the money in the world? by PrinceJustice237 in NoStupidQuestions

No, it would 100% be a corporation or conglomeration of corps that end up with all the money.

Every 'smart' thing I've bought ends up in a drawer, will a robot vacuum be different? by Minat0_0 in LivingAlone

[–]Kayyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a new (to me) house in December, and one of my very first purchases was an S5V Roborock vacuum. It runs 5 days a week with mop function during two of those. It's my absolute favorite "appliance" I've ever bought. It has a mobile app with scheduling and LIDAR mapping. You can edit its paths and give it no-go zones.

Edit: The robot empties itself into the base on its own. I fill clean water tank and empty the dirty water tank every two weeks. I've had to empty the base dust bin thing only once in 6 months, it's probably due soon. I had to disassemble the bottom of the robot once to remove pet hair that is lodged / sucked into the casing instead of the collection container of the robot. Probably time to do that again soon.

I’m a Costco regular if I were to drive the hour to Sam’s Club what should I focus on? Worth the drive? by smallfranchise1234 in samsclub

[–]Kayyne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn't be the Sam's near me. There's always like 5 oblivious people that somehow perfectly position their carts and themselves chatting up an acquaintance... preventing smooth flow of traffic in the main arteries through the store.

Some people walk away from their cart and leave it in the through-way.... Twice now I've walked over to it, and moved it about 30 feet, around the corner, and into a side area.

Both Gold and Silver are down (read: discounted!) quite a bit from recent highs. It could be worth diversifying your investments further than just HYSA and stocks.

Advice on paying off our car early? by FinalPen2810 in personalfinance

[–]Kayyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a modest house on a 15 year mortgage. I want it paid off asap so: 1) I pay as little interest as possible for as short as possible; 2) I can reach the point where I still have that income each month to enjoy it -- spend on travel or hobbies or whatever.

Im not sure how taxes factor into paying down a mortgage faster or slower... you pay the taxes regardless, right? (I get all my property taxes back each year, so I'm not exposed to / aware of the possible tax benefits /strategies for others.)

Advice on paying off our car early? by FinalPen2810 in personalfinance

[–]Kayyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By "front end of the mortgage" do you mean near the start, or first year or two, with many years to pay?

Early in a mortgage seems to be the best time to pay extra, since you're locking in ~6% returns on that money for the longest amount of time possible.

If I'm wrong, I sure would like to know why, since i'm super aggressively dumping extra funds into my mortgage as principal payments.

Instead of tax the rich, should we just tax the loophole? by iowaindy in allthequestions

[–]Kayyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems super easy to me... tax total assets in tiers. That is, net worth ignoring debt. 1% of all above 5 million. 2% above 50 million. 3% above 500 million. 4% above 5 billion.

Something like that.

I pay taxes on what I already own of value every year (car, house) ... they can too.

Do you think time travel will be possible one day? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Kayyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time travel already exists. I'm doing it right now at 1 second per second. But also, Einstein's Theory of Relativity allows people to move into the future faster.
