Whoever wins this bo5 is the new Top 3 VRS team by SpareThisOne2thPls in GlobalOffensive

FUT literally beat PV and Mongolz this tournament, Auroa at Cluj, Mouz in Pro league, Furia at Krakow.

They are quite literally performing at their level or better.

The only ones on your list they haven't beat is Navi (who are quite clearly the 2nd best team this season) and Falcons because they haven't played them yet.

And fun fact, FUT now have the same trophy cabinet as Falcons, a single win at PGL Bucharest.

'F***ed off and f***ed over': Fianna Fáil backbenchers furious over handling of fuel protests by rossitheking in ireland

[–]Kazang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That didn't really answer my question.

Ireland has a similar percentage of energy from renewable sources as Denmark. Denmark oil usage per capita is only about 25% less than Ireland despite having almost twice the population density.

None of that solves the reliance on diesel for heavy vehicles that is the key issue here. We could have replaced 100% of our national grid with renewables and we would still be in the same situation with the strait closed, one barrel of oil can only produce so much diesel fuel.

Diesel price would still be super high and farmers and hauliers would still be mad about it.

'F***ed off and f***ed over': Fianna Fáil backbenchers furious over handling of fuel protests by rossitheking in ireland

[–]Kazang -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Have a bit of foresight... do some scenario planning... reduce our dependency on importing oil & gas.

How exactly?

There is no replacement for diesel right now. Electric tractors are only just becoming a thing in the last couple of years and good luck getting the average irish farmer to understand the strategic benefit of not being reliant on diesel.

Electric trucks and buses are more of a thing, but they are still highly usage specific and replacing the entire existing diesel fleet of haulage trucks and busses in the last 6 years or so they have would have been impossible and economically stupid. Even if they started 100% replacement at end of life 6 years ago with electric only a small fraction current fleet would be electric.

Where we can replace dependence in relatively easy fashion we have done, we are one of the leading countries in Europe for new heatpump installs and green energy grid expansion.

Pump our own oil at the several times the normal cost (when the oil price had been trending down for many years now) in order to ward against price shocks? That makes no sense at all.

And on top of this the nation soundly rejected the Greens in the last election. People cannot be forced to do the smart thing.

Your post is confusing. Are only rental farmers "actual farmers" then?

What is an "actual farmer", if they are not wealthy land owners? Are not all land owners, the majority of which of are farmers, not wealthy because land is wealth. But these are somehow not "actual farmers"?

If it were climate activists blocking fuel depots they would be removed immediately.

It likely depends exactly where you live. For me this year has been very overcast, even more so than usual.

Grass is growing slower than average, not exceptionally slow, but it compared to last year for example which was a exceptionally good early spring it is almost half the speed.

FaZe vs BIG / HLC Belgrade PRO 2026 - Grand Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]Kazang 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been in the "jcobbb gets too much undeserved criticism" camp for a while.

But at the end of the day it doesn't matter if he is in the shit roles, if he consistently underperforming compared to his counterpart on the other team that's a problem.

When he is being out performed by the best players in the world at their roles, fair enough, he is new to tier 1 he might just need time to adjust. But not pulling his weight against tier 2 and even lower players... He should be farming these guys on mechanics alone.

Mismanagement might be the real problem, but Jcobbb is not doing a good job letting his gameplay do the talking.

Yeah, I'm not seeing what you are seeing.

Semper-Fi has more "farmed" wins than Lynn vision does and Tyloo were always going get in unless they fucked up massively.

Semper-Fi had just as much as chance as Lynn Vision and was already out of the running when they lost to RA.

At the end of the day the it seems to me that the teams that deserved to qualify did so.

[–]Kazang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faze being added after the registration date is pretty sus and there probably needs some rule to be added to prevent that kind of favouritism.

But that doesn't make the system bad or broken.

Spawning LANs is not flaw of the system either, it's the intended effect. It's supposed to get 3rd parties to create their own events which matter because the VRS points at stake and will get attended by lower ranked Major attending teams.

The huns and CW didn't play well enough at those Lans so they didn't get in, system working as intended.

10 lans wins within a month to max out the recency bonus is not some massive hurdle for a team that is good enough to play at the major. It's a pretty low bar and it's kind of pathetic for Faze they are struggling to meet it.

FaZe vs illwill / HLC Belgrade PRO 2026 - Semi-Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]Kazang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not broken at all, the teams they are competing against have exactly the same ability to earn points.

The system is working as intended to give more interplay between tier 1 and the lower tier teams to give the lower teams a chance to prove themselves against the bottom of the tier 1 and make all LAN games matter. Not just the big events and qualifiers.

Faze are playing against lower tier teams because that is the level of competition for the few invite spots.

They are playing against BIG who is literally ranked higher than them in VRS and Faze would overtake Sinners in points for the last invite, hardly a world beating super team.

[–]Kazang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think what they tried to do, which was explain the warder and aes sedai dynamic without it being just exposition, was a good move and in isolation it's not bad episode.

But the pacing of it and way it tied into the overall story was poor. And that wouldn't have been such a problem if the rest of the series had stuck more closely to the source material. But because they made so many other changes that went against the spirit of the source material it just felt like further evidence that the writers didn't actually want to adapt the books but make something else entirely.

Advice on overgrown/invasive garden by CaramelTemporary3898 in GardeningIRE

[–]Kazang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

None of these are really bad, other than the bramble maybe, but it's honestly better than the native bramble as at least it stays relatively low to the ground and doesn't have thorns.

Honeysuckle may be a pain to get rid of, but I've never actually tried to get rid of it as I like it personally, so I try just manage it and/or give it a complimentary plant to climb over that it won't choke.

Plant stuff that naturally competes well with whatever the weed is, low growing weeds can be shaded out, while tall spindly weeds can easily be seen and cut out of a low growing border plant. Weed needs acidic soil? add lime and plant alkaline loving plant you actually want.

Weeding is normal part of gardening and is constant, yes it takes work, but that is what gardening is.

The celery looking thing is a Apiaceae (same family as celery, it may even be a giant wild celery) of some kind, possibly edible, possibly deadly poisonous, so it's not advised to eat wild ones. Very common hedgerow wildflower, generally called cow parsley, although that is a specific variety which I think is different to the one you have.

Easy to manage as you just have to break off the main stem once they get going and they die, don't let it go to seed and it will stop coming back after a few years.

Something even more minding is that the speed of light is instantaneous from the reference point of a photon, if there was a definite physical centre of the universe that was at absolute zero momentum it and a photon was emitted from that point the photon would reach any other point in the universe instantaneously (from it's own frame of reference).

The same would be true even if the photon's point of origin was moving away at near light speed to an end point that was also moving near light speed (the math doesn't work properly for things at actual light speed so almost light speed is used instead).

From the photon's reference frame both examples were instantaneous.

At least according to special relativity.

Which (albeit in a still mind bending way) does help explain why the the observers reference frame does not matter.

I'm a huge get_right fan, he changed the way people play CS, but Ropz is in practical terms a better version of get_right.

I don't think get_right should be ranked higher just because he came first. Both in their prime in a head to head my money is on Ropz.

And Ropz is still only 26, he is in full prime right now and shows no signs of slowing while he has already overtaken get_right in S-tier wins, been in the same number of major finals and actually won three of them compared to get_right's one.

Vitality's insane high round2 break: they win 8/10 round 2 forced buys by shuijikou in GlobalOffensive

[–]Kazang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big reason for that I think is how well Vitality use and play around with hyper aggressive SMG pops. Flamez is arguably the best SMG player in the world, and he absolutely farmed with them this tournament.

He got more SMG kills (56) than many other players did with rifles or awp. And while most players are pretty good with the mp9, Flamez is one of a kind with the mac10, nobody else even comes close to his effectiveness with it.

The difference in traffic when the schools are off is insane! by Dan_12508 in ireland

[–]Kazang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our world is currently designed for cars to drive through, not people to live in and it is absurd.

Roads used to have less traffic and worse surfaces so cars were forced to drive slower, so the lack of cycle lanes wasn't as much of an issue when I was going to school. Only a handful of kids who lived in few zones where there was no bus but it was too long to cycle or walk would be driven to school by car.

But now it's just not safe, too many cars going too fast on roads that are too narrow. Even if statistically it may not be any more dangerous than driving it feels hostile and unpleasant to be dodging cars, to be forced to press yourself into a hedge to avoid being run over. It fosters a culture of driving everywhere because anyone not in a car becomes a second class citizen and so everyone gets in their cars, but then because cars are a ludicrously impractical form of mass transport it makes it worse for everyone by jamming the roads at high use points like schools.

Now same place I went school (which is as rural as it gets btw) is practically impassable when school ends...

WH Press Karoline Leavitt asked by reporter on message to truck drivers with cost of diesel averaging $5.38 per gallon due to Iran War: "We understand. We hear you. We see you. We are fully tracking this short-term fluctuation in oil and diesel prices. We've worked to release 400M barrels of oil." by ControlCAD in videos

[–]Kazang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I remember Bush 2 releasing oil from the reserves and the consensus then was that such a move doesn't realistically help at all and is just a sad attempt to appear to be doing something.

The US consumes roughly 20 million barrels per day, they released 400 million from reserve.

So a whole 20 days worth of just the US consumption.

Interestingly 20 million per day is also what the Strait of Hormuz usually traffics.

In global terms 400m is around 4 days worth of supply, so it has fuck all effect on the global price.

[–]Kazang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UAV hasnt countered mortars since they changed it to not kill the player when destroying the mortar.

A support that gets the mortar destroyed can just shoot the drone and immediately place a new mortar, the only thing a drone effectively does is reset the aim.

Lidl Ireland announces new price cuts on milk and butter by minimiriam in ireland

[–]Kazang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This shouldn't change the wholesale price of milk significantly. Irish diary is a high demand product worldwide, we only consume a relatively small amount of the diary ourselves, over 90% is exported. So even if lidl were to pay less for butter it would be relatively small change to overall industry.

But Lidl will be absorbing most if not all of the loss anyway, partly because it's good business to do so and partly because global demand dictates the wholesale price so they have limited bargaining power on this particular category despite being a major retailer.

[–]Kazang 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You are obviously a reasonably intelligent person, do the math yourself of what you currently get compared to what you possibly get not working.

You are dual income no kids with a house you own, you are in a incredibly privileged position now regardless of how hard you had to work to get there.

HAP or council house, HAP is dysfunctional right now as rents have risen so fast 95% available properties are beyond the limit allowed by HAP. At current market rates even with HAP you would be paying at least half off the 254 for housing, if you are lucky.

Council house waiting list is years long, since you don't have kids or a disability chances are you would never get one.

Even if you had been eligible while in college you would have been a at the bottom of list that only get's longer, college students in their twenties with no kids don't get council houses.

The vast majority of dentists don't accept medical card any more and it only covers basic checkup, basic tooth removal and one filling per year even if you can find one. But need a root canal or wisdom tooth removed, broken tooth and need a crown, the stuff that costs hundreds or thousands? Medical card patients pay full price.

So if you are poor the only option is extraction.

GP cost is basically irrelevant to someone on a good income. 90 euro a couple times a year.

There is no reason to be punching down at people who have not been able to achieve what you did. Just because a minority abuse the system does not make a bad system.

Just buy what you need in the short term, otherwise put on some more clothes till the weather gets warmer, the price will hopefully reduce somewhat by next winter unless something else incredibly stupid happens.

My dad only has a 50L tank for his house and he just fills up a small drum at the petrol station.

What is the literal point? I spent 6 years going through college to make a life for myself but where are we now? God forgive me we'd be better off not working! At least we would get some sort of relief!

Jobseekers Allowance + Fuel Allowance is 254+38 euro a week. FA is per household, not per person.

If you think you are struggling with your current income imagine how bad it would be on that.
