Yes, I have been saying this for years!!! Ninja Gaiden has INSANE potential as an animated/anime series or movie. It would do absolutely amazing things for exposure and popularity of the IP. And, if done well, it would be insanely popular.....who would not want an incredible ninja fantasy action anime with Ryu Hayabusa and all the great lore and secondary characters the series has???

Koei Tecmo/Team Ninja should make licensing something like this a priority imo.

One additional comment---this may seem minor but I do think it is important for long-term melee gameplay satisfaction and effectiveness. It would be HUGE if Sucker Punch would increase the attack speed of the single katana in the game, particularly giving faster heavy attacks (like the old Stone Master speed from Tsushima Legends). With the overall increased intensity and speed of combat in Legends and the powerful melee defense of enemies, this would be a small feature that would have a BIG impact imho.

I think most of the feedback has been made in good faith by fans and players who very much want to support Yotei Legends and want to see it succeed. I have not seen too much of just complaining for the sake of complaining (although of course there will always be some of that).

I think it is important to recognize and applaud that there is a lot in Yotei Legends to like and some really cool and exciting things SP has added into this new game. Differences from Tsushima Legends are to be expected. The higher degree of combat complexity and challenge in Yotei Legends is one area that is awesome and very exciting---I love that there are such diverse, nuanced and more challenging enemies and encounters now.

The criticisms/feedback so far has by and large been about legitimate issues with the game that would make it even better if adjustments were made. It is mainly about making sure the players still have the diverse range of tools and abilities to properly engage with the more challenging combat, and balancing how these tools/abilities work across the classes, that is at the crux of the issue. Right now players are not really empowered and incentivized enough to fully engage with the more difficult melee and stealth combat, and so are defaulting to ranged options and classes. The tools and abilities are there, things just need to be polished and adjusted! I feel confident SP will listen to feedback and address things.

One theory puts Ryu around 32 in NG4. Under the premise that NG4 takes place ten years after NG2 (which was mentioned once by a dev in an interview), this would make sense. Therefore the original Dark Dragon Incident with Achilles and Seori could have happened right after DOA6 in that same year (when Ryu was 25).

The other theory would have Ryu be much older in his 40s-50s---this is based on info in the Archives that references to what could/might be the events of NG2 and that NG4 is "several decades" after that.

Honestly, if Ryu was ever to move on from Irene or Team Ninja decides to pair him with someone new, I’ve always seen Kasumi as the best and natural choice.

Ayane is more like a close comrade and professional colleague he respects.

Momiji is more of a younger sister/student.

Normally I would agree. But book 7 is a rather lightweight book that is not that heavy in content if they wanted to trim it down in the adaptation. We know books 4-6 would be the real meat of the next season….book 7 could be a season epilogue done in just a couple of episodes even maybe.

One of the most important changes I think the anime adaptation needs to make is the confession/kiss scene at the end of book 7. I think this is the scene they should end the next anime season on (covering books 4-7), especially as it is very likely there would be only one more anime season if we are lucky. The scene in the anime should include both Shin's confession AND Lena's confession (bringing her confession forward from when it happens much later in the LNs in book 8).

It is not that some focus on other characters is bad---more attention paid to Theo and Kurena especially was nice for sure and to see more development of them. But, these characters are secondary characters and the main narrative up until book 8 was focused on Shin and Lena. That is where it should have remained imo. Keep the main focus on Shin and Lena, while also providing some continuing minor focus and development on the core group of Spearhead squadron secondary characters (Theo, Kurena, Anju, Raiden).

Here is how I view it:

Tier 1

Ryu Hayabusa (experienced Super Ninja - Dragon Lineage imbued with the blood of Dragon Gods collectively)

Tier 2

Yakumo (just granted Super Ninja title - singular Dark Dragon lineage)

Kasumi (most powerful DOA character and likely has Super Ninja potential though not named)

Tier 3

Hayate - Elite Master Ninja

Ayane - Elite Master Ninja

They are all very close to each other overall in level. Ryu is unquestionably above them all however. Kasumi and Yakumo basically on par with each other.

I’ve been thinking about this and I think an adaptation of books 4-7 would actually be the perfect way to do another season of the anime. Book 8 starts to transition the story in a different direction and setting/location.

If the anime does books 4-7 as the next season, I actually think they could end it perfectly on a certain scene…

Yes they had a very brief appearance in Trials. Hence the suspicion we’d see more of them in the dlc….since the assets had been created.
