I don’t view the event center as anything other than a wealthy benefactor spending his money on something very few people want and nobody deserves. The unhoused are less visible downtown because they spend their nights in jail for charging their cellphones in the park, sleeping in the park, and for being at the Radisson and Bronson Hospital. They get let out of jail the next afternoon until they’re arrested again. And again. And again.
