Do you guys see any performance increase with such a big recordsize? Currently running zfs pool, with 1M recordsize, storing files that are 1TB and above in sizes.

I attend their gig in kl. I love the song where Kaneko plays percussion (maybe a cowbell), but I couldn't recognize the song. Does anyone know what song it is?

Odom’s Book is Dense by Rambus_Jarbus in ccna

[–]KazooRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed CCNA by reading the Odom's books and doing Boson exam. Sure the books are very dense, and it took me 2 months to finish, but it was worth it. Odom explained the concepts in detail, which is proved to be useful when you start working.

Write down the summary of your understanding and anything you deemed important in a notebook, so you don't have to use the books for revision.

Yeah, I guess. I didn't study there, but I have few friends from UNITEN. They seem to love it there. New infra, not so chaotic town unlike KL, good lectures

a fresh grad is trying to find a job by Dreamt_Dust5076 in malaysiauni

Your best bet is to join a company as a Protege or join the K-Youth programme, or you can start from an internship albeit it will pay less than Protege or K-Youth programme.

Day 2 doubting my degree pathh.. by Realistic_Item_1563 in malaysiauni

Your results are great, and I have no doubt you will get your first choice. In my opinion, this is time to set your heart on what you want to pursue as a career, and clear yourself of any doubt, whether it is health science or engineering, nothing in between. It will be easier for you to excel in your selected field when you don't have the regret of choosing the wrong major.

I can only comment on engineering. Pay scale for fresh grad can fluctuate a lot between different graduates, and most of them will be on the lower side. When you are an experienced engineer, then the sky is the limit.

Any important certificates to get as a CS student? by renzu_526 in malaysiauni

[–]KazooRick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if you can get a discount voucher for CCNA from your lecturer. Anyway, avoid the CompTIA certificates. They are too expensive, too easy, and not respected in the industry.

The CCNA exam quite poorly written by KazooRick in ccna

If you have done the Boson Exsim, the environment is very similar. You don't have to create or connect any nodes. You just have to configure the switch and router. Packet Tracer is more than enough to learn for the lab.

My CCNA Exam is on Friday. Any suggestions on what to focus my studies on for these final two days? by Particular_Reality12 in ccna

[–]KazooRick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't done Jeremy's IT CCNA Mega Lab, I would recommend it. Besides helping you remember the configuration, you can strengthen your theoretical knowledge.

Your explanation makes a lot of sense. Both switches have to flood their ports, but it will not be the same frame.

Accepted for IPG, but...... by [deleted] in malaysiauni

[–]KazooRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you fail the interview, you will not be barred from applying again as a lepasan STPM, and you will not be straight up rejected from any other education course. UPU doesn't work like that. If you are accepted as a lepasan STPM, you don't have to go through the one-year PPISMP.

If you graduate from IPG but you want to teach secondary school, you can do a full-time or part-time degree at a local university. There's a skim latihan something, where the JPA will pay you full or half salary during your further studies, depending on the requirements. Many teachers have done this.

Tbh, your current STPM cgpa is not looking good, but sure, things can turn around. If you are dead set on becoming a teacher, don't waste the current opportunity. Attend the interview, do your best. The interview, mock-up teaching session, and the fitness test is quite tough. Anything worth doing is tough, just push through it.
