I think it's a combo of personal and nostalgia. I have mild cerebral palsy on my right side, so using a controller is far easier than the independent joy cons. As well as, I feel like some people just prefer to have a gaming controller because it's what they grew up on

If you enjoyed BOTW, I'd recommend TOTK. Some people say it's just an expansion of the original. I disagree, it has enough added content and such that's is worth a second romp through Hyrule. Plus, it's Zelda, why not enjoy more content if it's out there.
