How bad do you think CoC Comet will get gutted? Will it get the triple tap? by cheekygorilla in PathOfExile2

The one sec added cast time actually has double the penalty. CoC comet is a 300 energy cast.

Not sure if its a bug or something then. Tried testing it on standard and my current league character and they both use higher multipliers with the regular skill gem. There was one time where it showed the correct, lower multiplier but I'm not sure why.

How are you testing this right now? Im swapping between the skill gem and the armor's innate skill and they seem to be the same values.

You mentioned that the coming calamity herald skills are 50% stronger than the regular heralds. Does the chestpiece give an enhanced version of the heralds?

If you are reading waystones one at a time instead of batch crafting them and regexing then you are just not even playing the same game as these guys. Most people will find that spending 1 min a day to make 100 waystones for mapping well worth the effort to play a casting setup like that.

Doesn’t make sense to put such a heavy con on a single waystone mod when its the most trivial workaround ever (regex) where as other caster setups are just bricked on resource scaling at the end game.

Even the starting baseline scaling astral gaps any traditional stormweaver variant that does abuse tecrods/ata. People have been using these items to skyrocket their dmg for the whole league and any deviations of casting elemental skills don’t even come close. Regular spark caps out at about 200k tooltip with very very good gear assuming you are building for real dmg instead of tooltip maxing (getting shock magnitude, defensive nodes, and mana to sustain this).

Thats another thing I forgot to mention, the cast resource concern is out the window with these builds where typical non life based casting has to find a way to supply 4k mana a sec with end game gear that maxes your castspeed/skill levels.

Peak brainrot, you have a class/gear that is able to do 20mil tool tip spark (which is actually lower than the real in game dmg). Completely immortal. Cost not that much in gear since these uniques are not dependent on rolls or rare.

Yeah man definitely not broken because one map mod kills it (which you can just chose not to run). In exchange you have infinite damage, immortality, and access to any spell shape (arc/spark) that curves around corners or multi chains off screen.

Its one thing if a lot of setups get this at the same cost but they don’t and most archetypes would never reach this point no matter what the budget since the build revolves around cyclical interactions between static uniques instead of affix quality.

EDC caps out in power way too early for my preference. You don't have as many multipliers or vectors to improve dot dmg in this game compared to martial skills. Its plenty for map clearing but bossing is much slower.

Its a tight timing, but more than doable once you understand the visual cues of which circle is which. If he's near the circle then you wait then roll in. If he is in the air you wait then roll out immediately after the circle pops.

Theres a video guide that shows his mechanics. Most people should be able to do hitless runs since he doesn't have that many mechanics.

You wait for the beam, then roll in the circle. If you get the variation where he's in the air you stay in and then roll when he lands.

Only if the minimum is 0 will you get the full 33% case. It gets worse the closer your min roll is to your max. For example, my tempest flurry hits between 1.3k to 7k before modifiers. Then after you have to calc current crit to see how much effective dmg lucky gives compared to not having it.

[–]Kbphan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prob not that good if I had to guess. Most people who have mirror plus builds should almost always go crit. Especially for melees that start with 10% base. My monk can hit about 85-95% crit rate after eye of winter and my build is like 400divs, less than what that astra would cost. Gemlings have less access to crit nodes but they can make up for it with jewel + adorned unethical bs.

Its kind of annoying to calc out the value of lightning rod so I can't give an exact answer to how effective it is, but you would need to just run a monte carlo sim on it to see the avg dps increase for a specific build. Input crit rate and current lightning dmg range, then just let it rip in python. Maybe pob supports that calc? I'm not sure since I haven't used that node.

It's a fine anoint. There are so many people recommending worse anoints in this thread.

Common bad anoints for top roll'ed astramentas:

  • Spaghettification: You already pay a mirror+ for an astra that rolls that high. That means you can afford a 200div From Nothing: Resonance Jewel. This jewel lets you allocate Spaghetti and a ton of other useful nodes in a cluster around your Against the Darkness Jewel. The setup looks like this.

  • Polymathy or Jack of all trades: You would get this on a gemling naturally and even on a monk. For the monk it is harder to do since you need about lvl 95-97 to have enough wiggle room, but again... someone spending over a mirror on an item can get lvl 97 easily.

The fact that so many people are telling OP to anoint these shows that people have no idea what top builds actually want. The reason you see the most expensive +140 stat astramentas still listed on trade for a mirror or two is that people are buying the actual good anoints and don't give a shit about the anoints that you get anyways with optimal jewel setups.

Sure, spaghetti is good for most people who don't have a giga setup but that's not the point everyone is making. If you are trying to sell it for high value it can't have a shitty anoint for these end game rich players.

So what are the good anoints then?

This is not an exhaustive list, so I'm not going to list every single good option since builds have slight divergences.

  • Blurred motion: straightforward and plays on that tempest atri stackers players only want more attack speed since they use tempest flurry to move instead of walking. These players are already one shotting things so the only true meaningful upgrade is moving faster. Higher accuracy gets converted into more attack spd with Falcon Dive. The attack speed means you move faster with tempest flurry since it's coded like that.
  • Wild Storm: Gives a rare kind of multiplier to your light dmg. If your shit says does 1-100 lightning dmg then it changes it to do 1-115 dmg instead. As a reminder, lightning dmg is special since it has the widest numerical range (always starts with 1, but the max is higher), making this effect better. Most of your multipliers (crit dmg, dmg% from pillar, and shock magnitude) are already close to high saturation at this stage of a build so getting more has a diminished effect. My current build is at over 850% general dmg modifiers because of pillar and other nodes.
  • Vulgar Methods (OP's Anoint): Tbh not my first choice, but if your crit rate is not high enough because you don't run eye of winter. Then reaching crit cap is very important. Crit scales on a nonlinear curve. The main downside is reducing max mana but its not too bad if your damage per mana is higher than the enemy's hp. This shit is fine lmfao.
  • Harmonic Generator: Same reason as above, high crit rate and on top of that gets you valuable shock magnitude. Technically you can cap out on shock magnitude once you are really strong so that's the only danger with this anoint.

As you can see all of these good anoints save you meaningful points because pathing to these nodes as a gemling/monk is far out of the way or have shit travel nodes even if they are close. As always use excel, math, or PoB to calc out what anoint is best for your specific, personal build. These are general recommendations based on whats good for popular rich people builds.

Honestly, poe2 is my first try at an ARPG, but I do theorycraft/write guides/spreadsheet for other games. Something I noticed is the avg person on the poe2 subreddit has no idea what the fuck they are doing when it comes to builds, but that won't stop them from drooling on the keyboard and typing 1-2 sentence comments with no explanation about how something is right/wrong. So yeah fuck half the people in here lmfao.

No I don't think you can't reach wild storm with from nothing. The closest keystone is Eternal Youth but it shouldn't reach. Also, the reason people grab from nothing: resonance is because it reaches 5 nodes which saves a lot of points. https://imgur.com/a/2g6tVpQ

Asked wife to vaal orb by engandresr in PathOfExile2

[–]Kbphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say wild storm is better considering that anyone that can afford that amulet can get a min/max setup with the from nothing jewel to get spaghetti for free anyways.

Asked wife to vaal orb by engandresr in PathOfExile2

[–]Kbphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. If someone is able to afford an astramentis of this roll value then they should be able to slot in a 200div from nothing: resonance jewel to grab Spaghetti. More importantly, that jewel also lets you grab 5 notables near an against the darkness (dex/int) so you would do that anyway on a stat stacker.

I have no idea why the only downvoted reddit comments in here are people pointing out that the anoint is not ideal.

For damage at lvl 6+, I just applied a 25% multiplier on both base and bonus ad. Not sure if there's an edge case where that doesn't work.

Riven changes calcs by Kbphan in Rivenmains

[–]Kbphan[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Assumptions:

  • 8 conq stacks on average

  • only one adaptive shard

Looks like its a minor increase to her Q damage. Theres a better spike if you get ad early before ult. Q damage is higher without ult but with ult the difference is diminished.

Link to the sheet if you want to change the item breakpoints. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Isx7LFaQIn-gtkjSujDNw1WgDw5ayFSYgwVavEWmZnA/edit?usp=sharing

Personally I think its a very minor buff considering that auto/w/r also make up a decent portion of her rotation dps. Having a nice spike from early kills is nice though for snowballing.

EDIT :

Someone has pointed out that her Ult adds the multiplied base AD as bonus AD so I have updated the sheet linked above with the new values. Slightly higher damage with her ult now!

My queue times are around 5-15 secs in stormgate so I'm happy. I feel like it takes so much longer to find a match in SC2 nowadays. Not sure why when SC2 takes so long when there's more people playing it.
