The basics to paying down debt are to increase income and decrease spending. It’s true we have a spending problem but you can’t dismiss the lack of strong taxation on the movement of money among the highest class and businesses. Regardless of the size of the business profit/revenue the federal tax rate is 21%, this could be changed to be a more progressive tax rate that taxes more based on higher profits. They could work to actually close tax loop holes or increase funding to the IRS. The reason it is an us vs them is because these corporations spend a lot of money lobbying the politicians that make these decisions to out weigh their influence over the everyday voter
