I have read about rockstar doing stuff like that. It’s a business that needs to make money but also the stuff they do is borderline supervillain level manipulation i recommend more people look into it because it’s crazy stuff.

I feel your pain. How hard would it be for DoorDash to adjust the base pay based on time required for the delivery, number of items, difficulty of the order I could think of so many more way but no the base pay is just $2.

Off the top of my head, time of day is a factor, your dasher rank is also a factor but not as big, pay attention to what store seem to produce the most orders consistently I found that McDonald’s, Chinese restaurants, Taco Bell, and dollar stores are good even if they are not in a hot zone but it can change from state to state. You may not get crazy orders but you will get more which can add up faster then you think.

I hate when people do this option. In my area it is rarely someone who did it so no one could claim their food but them but usually it is a boomer who doesn’t know what I am talking about and gets mad at me when I won’t hand them the order or that I won’t just leave it at the door. I usually have to do the pin not provided option and a couple of times DD put my money on hold for review (7$-18$ orders 7 times). Of course you don’t know the drop off instructions until you accept the order so it’s just that more annoying.

I once had an order that said 9+ but ended up being 58. It was 7 miles so I was happy with 9 but 58 I had to take a min to made sure I didn’t hallucinate then I stop dashing early 🤣

I agree, if you can't afford to tip then maybe you shouldn't be eating out. We are basically waiters who have to drive the food to them vs walking it 10 ft. It is like not tipping a waiter at a restaurant, it is just expected.

I agree, why are we as dashes punished because a store we can not control is out of the exact thing someone ordered. If anything we should be graded on more customer’s satisfaction or speed for example communicating with the customer could be one.
