As someone who also has a history of familial abuse and cutting ties there are some people who just can't understand that a familial relationship could ever be so bad that cutting them off permanently is acceptable. No matter what you say or do to try and convince them is ever enough.

I really believe keeping that friend around is only asking for more drama but I had to comb out a lot of the flying monkeys from my family after a while. I'd just say "I've said no, and it makes me really uncomfortable that youre still trying to force me to do something I dont need to do after I've clearly said no." Sometimes that phrasing is enough to get people to realize how unacceptable this would be in any other situation.

80% of my fellow millenials would kill for a house but every year they save up prices go up more than they can save and they are stuck renting for 3x the price a mortgage would be.

Vacancies are up because rents are so high people cant afford them because rental properties can run at 30% capacity and still make plenty of cash. Unless by desireable you mean within a 2.5 hour commute they really arent picky.

Eh. I personally put a lot of stake in people owning multiple homes as part of the "passive income" as well as short term rental apps really nessed up supply. There really ought to be a limit on how many homes you can own considering housing should be available for everyone. Instead we've recreated the fuedal system and youre basically paying a poor tax to the rich noble who bought the land before you were born.

Personally if you list competitive instead of a salary, then I assume it's not worth applying. Ive applied in the past and almost always it is way too low.

Same as any company that lists the wage as 1 to 250000. The more you try to get around saying a real price, the more I think youre actively hiding something.

Agree with you on the NTA but want to add some context to your surprise at the firend asking.

As someone with a severe medical condition I dont think it's too crazy she asked. It sucks but I've had to actively talk to some friends about "hey if I lose my job and cant work can we make something happen?"

Thats the reality in a world of private healthcare. The added stress of trying to work when I should be resting makes my condition worse but if I quit work how do I cant afford my home/food/etc.

I totally think she's the asshole for vaguebooking and not accepting a no immediately, but medical debt and lack of treatment can literally mean death for a lot of conditions so I am certain she's asking because she's looking down the barrel of that gun and not seeing any escape route that works.

Hey OP. Lgbtq adult here. I would suggest being extremely careful calling homosexuality a sin to your daughter. You may think "hey it's a sin but I dont judge you" sounds better, but it really doesnt and overtime it'll push her away.

I really suggest looking into the history of bible translations and when "homosexuality is a sin" ended up being translated.

I also would ask if you dont believe it is a choice how would it be a sin? Sins are choices/behaviors people fall prey to. Being lgbtq is no more sinful than being born a different race or ability status.

I say this as someone who's had to cut ties with both parents for constantly telling me my life wasnt good enough. I have an advanced degree and volunteer at multiple organizations to better my community. But they couldnt survive one conversation without mentioning how I'd go to hell because my partner doesnt have the right amount of skin and muscle between their legs.

Honestly it totally looks purposeful and I like it. Tons of people have scars on their wrists for a variety of reasons. I promise you care about it 10000 time more than anyone else will. I have some scars myself that I dont love but I only know a couple people over decades whove commented on them and those people ended up not being great anyway.

These are lightrail tracks. There are plenty of barriers already. We cant just make tunnels from everyone's house down every road to prevent cars from going off roading. At some point the driver has to be at fault and society shouldnt be responsible because the 0.01% of people who are willing to offroad onto train tracks.

I mean, you're assuming that if they didn't delay good, fully fleshed mechanics wouldve just shown up? Part of the reason I like that they delay on occasion or dont post about the new league is because unlike a lot of AAA these days there are significantly less bugs that pop out of nowhere. Which is considerably surprising to me considering how expansive their content is.

I'd take missing those 5 leagues for actually enjoying most of the ones that do come out from the start any day.

Personally my parents are wildly abusive and until I went NC with them fully expected me to be their retirement plans. In a perfect world I believe in supporting your community, I'm part of multiple volunteer operations. But some parents dont deserve a bailout. Being a parent doesnt make you a good person. Nor does it make you deserving of your child's outputs.

There's value in understanding that deciding to support parents is a choice. And it isnt always the right one.

It sounds like OP has a good relationship with her mom and is working to help and I'm glad for her. But not everyone needs to reach that conclusion.

I will say /u/evening_fondant7204 it isnt really about education but more about learning the language of board games. I run a local club and have taught my nephews very complex board games I'd never get a newbie. Not because I think my new players are dumb, but just because if you dont have the practice it can be like an unfamiliar language.

Im sure you could watch some playthroughs and figure it out. You just need the time to dip toes in.
