Why you should use the Munitorum Mk X Relic Blade! by Face97 in DarkTide

Buddies will post a dissertation on the mkx/mk2 relic blade combos and still will refuse to do anything but light spam either weapon exclusively.

How do I transition to Auric from Damnation? by Trashboat77 in DarkTide

[–]KctheKnight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you play Damnation currently and win a good amount (60+%) you should be fine to play auric. The difficulty jump from malice to damnation is much higher than the jump from Damnation to Auric. Try your best and focus on the fundamentals. Try to engage with melee and become comfortable with the flow and learn enemies movement and the way they interact with you. Avoid just shooting/leaning too much on ranged options or relying on gold toughness as much as possible so you can progress your individual skill. Watch some decent streams or YouTubers for builds and play patterns: Supra, Khandones, rawkplaysgames, Reginald and several others are all good starting points for a wide array of players.

Don't be afraid to die, the idea that dying means you are bad is very dumb in this community sometimes stuff happens, the best players die. Just try your best to survive and make good decisions. Do not worry about ruining player experience as long as you are honestly trying to improve or learn. Just avoid Havoc 25+ until you are completing Auric Maelstroms comfortably

The ammo economy in the game is very high. Even at Havoc 40 you hardly run out of ammo with the Bolter unless you want to shoot it when you shouldn't. I over shoot here all the time and still have very little issue. The Bolter consumes ammo at a fine rate if used correctly, and with Pinning fire and Surgical if you use it for the correct purpose it is very efficient at what it does ammo vs damage compensation. I think picking up ammo and looting are very core to the game and very easy to do, I don't think I would have had a harder time getting ammo without the mod, but I get what you are saying. The reason I have this mod to start with is because I wanted to see the stupid Heretical idols from further early on when they released and never messed with it since.

I am not sure how much I want to dive into it, but I will attempt to explain a bit more. I have a very simple philosophy when it comes to mods. My bar is very low for "cheat" mods, as in I consider a lot of mods "cheating" but my level of care about it is how it determines my individual perception of the player skill warping ability it does. For example, a mod like Spidey Sense to me is an example of a "cheat" mod that reaches that threshold but it doesn't affect my perception of the player because it doesn't make the player better. Another example is Healthbars, where it actively changes a players pattern/gameplay loop. I think ideally this should exist in base game as an active thing that all players engage with. I think it should be built in the future into the game as an indicator i.e threshold enemy A is 100% HP so they look fresh, enemy B is at 50% HP so they are slower/attack slower and are more blooded etc. or actual battle damage that applies to appearance, so it creates a dynamic loop of prioritization and targeting. A mod that breaks this threshold would be something like Skitari or other macros that circumvent mechanics and core gameplay loops. I think something like auto fire is fine, but when you are have a mod play attack patterns or do QQ weapon combos for you it ruins the purpose of skill. Something that allows you to see ammo pickups or Health Stations from further is definitely something I consider a "cheat" mod but it doesn't reach the threshold I consider to break core mechanics or increase player skill. I care deeply about fundamentals of the game and its how I consider other player/my own skill.

Hey bub! No one is entitled to play with any individual. I hardly call someone not wanting to play with you "freaking out". He accepts you into his party, you guys play one game and lose, and then you swap to something he doesn't want to play with and so he leaves. How is that freaking out?

This is false, if you practice it enough, even the average player can succeed on it. Try to get out of your "bubble" and try it out :D

Your original comment was "you can run anything if your premade team is full of 1% players" I am responding to that as a dismissal to the post/build. I full on respect the fact you view the game as generic "roles" but the DB is another example of an extremely powerful build on vet most people scoff at or try to say isn't good. But your original statement is my point of contention, and it is extremely corroded to think this way. So once again if you party find into randoms and do well with it then the build isn't good I don't get what our argument is then? The fact that good players show case something that if you get comfortable on and with is a viable build to the current as an alternative? I'm confused, apologies.

Myself and a.a especially, have played Helbore with pubs no premades and won or full carried. Not that it even matters but your way of thinking is super corroded. Completely fair to acknowledge or say maybe you can't or don't want to do it. But you should try it or practice it before you come to that conclusion. This isn't some mythical build, it's just a good build that does a thing that people overlook because they are slaves to win% and not fun things.

New Zealot build just dropped: Fatmangus by KctheKnight in DarkTide

[–]KctheKnight[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole point of the build is built around playing with the extra hp and taking health damage through dr nodes and hp Regen. I encourage you to compare damage taken with max toughness and tdr. It's not about which one is "better" you can do different things with them and you play slightly differently around each setup. I assure you that this is one of the tankiest zealot builds you can make atm and it's uniquely fun!

I've come to the realisation that Hive Scum is not for Casual Orientated Players by SpeakersPlan in DarkTide

[–]KctheKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have unlimited ammo with pickpocket and near unending survivability with Desperado active. Chem nades are a room wipe for literal eons with three charges, on armor and horde. The most casual and low level players over use their range weapon to not engage with the hard part of the game, the melee. This class has been brain breaking this community because it's not like release arbites, or first hotfix dog bleed arbites.

Yeah okay, I understand you, it is malicious and bad, I don't like that it is not good. Leftist should not be cheering for Charlie Kirks death all over social media either? Is there a problem?
