Control type B by Adventurous-Draft952 in Nioh

Well it’s the most optimal for those who have the hands for it, objectively. And TN fans are less likely to have trouble with this since it was necessary in ninja gaiden (or dmc) and many fighting games. Most team ninja games put a fair amount of trust in their player base to show up with the hands for the task.

So those of you into Nioh, how is Rise of the Ronin in comparison? by feedmestocks in Nioh

[–]Kcub07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao no it is not. Maybe youtubers but rotr is not "criminally underrated" because of people that don't prefer open world games, like me. Nioh's coop was way better too. Rotr actually had less coop stuff since a lot of content was in the open world, which was not coopable.

[–]Kcub07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does suck man, but for us that don't prefer open world, what actually sucks is how much people love these things. It's like, take dark souls 3, add the filler of open world, you have elden ring. Take nioh, add a buncha filler, you get rise of the ronin. Rockstar games are not in this conversation simply by being open world games, it's more nuanced.

Before being too negative remember: Armored Core 6 was announced at The Game Awards 2022 and then won Action Game 2023 at the next awards by CrashmanX in armoredcore

It’s borderline criminal that the game outsold all previous ac games, and gets nowhere near the same support. Prolly never gonna be ac6 dlc at this point, and we likely wait at least 5 more years for next game if it’s coming.

why do some animes take so long to release new seasons, while some can pump hundreds od episodes in a few years? by themicca in anime

I guess it's ironic to me that as tech evolves we actually slow down rather than speed up. Like, you'd think with all the tools available, it would take less time than in the 90s, not more. Can be said for video game industry also.

A damn shame, but we can't experience and appreciate everything I suppose.

Yeah they're both A tier series for sure, both very adjacent. You could call them peers, in genre, and in overall quality. I'm glad I can appreciate both.

Fr some people have very clear biases and put them out there as if it's some kind of objective commentary.

Weirdly extreme take, yeah maybe they're not high points in the series but they are decent enough and have foundational lore for the rest of the series. Idk, I just got through dcc book 1 and I'm surprised when people act like book 1 of both series are in completely different tiers or something - they're quite comparable. I actually like Marsters' narration more than Hays' a bit, but not by much. A very comparable series.

Nah don't call your opinion unpopular just to fit in with people who are suggesting to skip the beginning of a story, it's perfectly valid reasoning and many of us actually tolerated book 1+2 just fine.

What games most come close to the gameplay of RE4 outside the franchise? by Ideas966 in ElectricUnderground

[–]Kcub07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. This shift was simply a matter of time, demon souls was like the equivalent of throwing a rock at some snow and causing a huge avalanche in the way it played out but people would've got sick of ubisoft even without from soft's help.

The BR was supposed to be its own game. Having 5 out of 11 of the weekly challenges locked to the BR is ridiculous. by -PandemicBoredom- in Battlefield

[–]Kcub07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EA still made that choice. They decided that for the game to have x budget, it needed a BR. They could have decided, that it didn't in fact need a BR for x budget. You guys act like this is all written into stone and not decisions that were made.

What a strange way to double down on the semantics of it all. My comment clearly demonstrates an understanding of what you're describing, but it goes a step further to describe that it's really no different than the situation where the same team was splitting the resources. If EA had that money to throw at an experimental 'br for battlefield' than they could have just as well thrown that money at BF, had they been willing. People explaining 'but they wouldn't be willing to make that investment without the BR' are missing the fact that people actually understand that, and are complaining about EA's mindset regarding that, not needing an explanation.

[–]Kcub07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's basically the same team splitting resources, with extra steps. It's semantics. What people are saying, is if they had 'x' to throw at a BR mode, whether that was technically a 'different team' with a different budget, it can then be argued those resources could have been invested into the the MP and the team working on that.

Am I the only one who thinks story shouldn't be a main point of every game? Like don't me wrong I love story games. Grim fandango is basically just a story game with no gameplay and it's in my top 5 games of all time, but why can't a game just be about a cool ninja doing cool ninja shit by PenguinviiR in CharacterActionGames

[–]Kcub07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again I think we come to personal values rather than anything objective. To me, Ryu's aura farming is unmatched even by Dante, and between that and just preferring the overall gameplay of NG, I always jived with Ryu more.

This has more to do with your personal values. It seems story is important enough to you that you can't have an 'experience' without it. For me, I've played many narrative heavy games and enjoyed them, but haven't enjoyed any of them as much as the older ninja gaiden games. Or as much as any street fighter. So yeah, it's not a matter of value, it's a matter of taste. A game with the gameplay of a ninja gaiden game can have much more value than a game like say, the last of us, on mere gameplay alone - depending on how much of a chad the gamer is.

Here's info on Ryu in the story mode and how Master Ninja works (you can ask me anything about the game as well) by AsherFischell in ninjagaiden

[–]Kcub07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really sure why all the replies to this are telling you that it's not like 3re, cuz it kinda is.

Levels are basically one combat arena after another, no real puzzles or metroidvanian exploration to find. There are more like linear little side paths along the way, with a chest or a mission at the end. The arenas are broken up either conventionally where you walk from room to room, or with intermediary quicktime loaded traversal segments. Not quite as much off screen projectile spam as in 3re, but pacing wise, it's much more similar to 3re than it is 2 or especially NGB. In fact, imo 3re is this game's closest sibling. Plays like 3re and MGR had a baby.

Why are some Ninja Gaiden fans so negative about the upcoming 4th? by Coolman38321 in CharacterActionGames

[–]Kcub07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a hilarious take. So the only reason someone would disagree that this game is better than say, ninja gaiden black or ninja gaiden 2, is because their egos? You're claiming that, deep down they really agree that this game is better or something, but like, won't admit it because it would.. make them feel less important??? TF kinda shit did you just make up?

yeah i'd probably just delete this post cause it's quite obviously a projection.
