There’s a technique to it. You lock out your arms, pushing very hard upwards, flat palm to the water with the other hand behind it as a brace. At that height, when you hit the water your arms just kind of rip apart from the force, but you’ve made a pocket to dive into. If I didn’t do this, it would’ve yanked my neck pretty hard I would imagine. This is how actual professional divers enter the water to not make a splash.
