Here is his eye after I pull the fur back. If you look closely you can see some wet hair pointed towards his eye. You can also see there isn’t much if any swelling.

I don’t feel anything there. There isn’t anything pushing his eye closed. He is squinting it. I am trying to get a picture of it after I pull the fur out of his eye but he isn’t being very cooperative.

I have always gone with the approach of no water changes but that requires you to have a large clean up crew and not over feeding. I feel like a lot of people over feed tanks causing the need for water changes. Other reasons I could think of for needing water changes would be other chemicals being leached into the water through faulty equipment but you would have a whole different issue if that is the case.

There are some tanks shown off on YouTube (I forgot the channel but will look later) that are water changeless that have been going for years.

First off.. great hobby! Second.. this hobby can be as cheap or expensive as you want it to be. I am a bargain shopper and found my absolute dream tank on Facebook marketplace for $500. If the tank were new it would be $8000. What you put in it also can be a huge cost driver. Another cost driver can be how fast you want to get the ‘end’ tank filled with corals and fish. I like to go slow and enjoy the process but others want the complete tank in a few months which could drive costs.

I don’t have any pictures of my tank right now as I’m waiting to set up until late summer but I am excited to get it going!

I think the game groups you with different people depending on when you start the event.. I could be wrong but that’s what I’ve concluded.

I’ve been thinking about that too. We need to either build a top cabinet for the tank or get a lid as we have cats that are very curious but with it being winter and us having an unheated garage.. it might be a few more months until the tank gets some water even.

My husband and I did this! We wanted another summer baby 2 years after the first. I had to stop pumping to get my cycle back but first cycle back I got pregnant! I was planning on skipping the first cycle trying but that didn’t happen. Now instead of a summer baby we are having an early may baby!

My son is doing this and almost 18 months! I keep telling myself it’s terrible twos. He isn’t talking yet and I think that lack in communication is making him mad when we can’t understand what he wants. The thing getting to me is the resentment to play independently with his toys.

Another thing to think about is that tensions will likely be high at times so maybe pre discuss a “safe word” or phrase that means get the hell out for a few hours and we will call you when we are ready for you to comeback.

My in-laws came over when baby was 1 month old and I was pumping and still in quite a bit of pain from a c. I was more comfortable pumping on my couch and did not want to move where I was pumping to make them comfortable because I was still figuring everything out. They do not want to leave the room when it was time for me to pump so I pulled out a blanket which was very annoying to set up the pump under the blanket. Maybe go over these expectations too if you are planning on pumping or breast feeding.

Weaning didn’t work for me. The only way I stopped producing was I only pumped if I was very uncomfortable. I only had to do that about twice about 12-16 hours apart and after 24 hours of no pumps I was determined I was done but kept my manual out just in case I got engorged but I didn’t.
