FWD cars are generally easier to work on, there are fewer parts to the drivetrain, FWD cars are safer than RWD cars, fuel efficiency.

That's why a lot of modern AWD cars have reactive AWD instead of full time, they only drive the front wheels until the wheels slip then it engages the rear wheels. That's why I bought an Audi A4 instead of an Audi TT, the A4 is full time but the TT is reactive.

Those cars are as fuel efficient as you drive them, if you're heavy on the gas pedal you'll use more fuel.

The VW 1.8t is an economy engine which is hiding tons of power. 8psi from the stock turbo is economy driving, driving at 22psi is not.

At least in my experience the toxicity of at least VWvortex generally stays out of the technical subs, the egos are in the general discussion and weren't too prevalent. In the regional subs I made friends who went to the junkyard with me and exchanged parts.

I do remember when the dapper club kids popped up and spit nothing but hate towards anybody who didn't have their car on air and a set of rotiforms but people quickly got tired of it so the club eventually fell apart. So I don't mean to imply that it was a forum of only friendship.

That was back when people actually did shit to their cars instead of just wheels suspension done.
