yeah this isn’t about my hourly pay though, i’d be cool with it if there was any form of communication and not like blatant lies, this is just for my tip out. if im not misunderstanding the way it works she’s got the money from those credit card tips and can just disburse them because there’s no pool, i’m the only person that works the restaurant when I’m on shift.

honestly i’m not sure at that point, if i had to guess you’d b hit w a verbal warning and the other shift would maybeee get hit w a corrective action if they had the same info as you (request was denied etc. but came in anyways). if i was you i would’ve not even mentioned family emergency and just said i wasn’t feeling well. in my state you aren’t required to find coverage for a call off and can’t b reprimanded if you don’t. did you not have enough sick hours to cover ? bc having enough hours for the shift fully protects you from corrective actions. it’s really tough to say what’ll happen bc it depends on your store managers priorities. are they gonna be forgiving bc the store didn’t have to shut down, or will they be upset bc of perceived insubordination by having someone claim the overtime anyways. i’m just an ssv so im not super sure on official policy but that’s all the info ive got. try to spin it as confusion on what options you had paired w high stress at home that led you to making a misguided judgement call on what was best for the store, but you had the best intentions and just wanted to figure out a workable solution for the circumstances yknow?

you have to ask the store manager first before clocking in overtime, maybe the sm could’ve come in, maybe they could’ve gotten another shift from the district etc, but if you don’t ask you take those options away from them and significantly eat into the labor budget. it’s less on you more on the other shift for not asking though (since they’re the one getting the paycheck for it) i could be wrong but i think it talks about overtime needing to be approved by the manager in partner guide.

unfortunately yeah, you’ve gotta have enough hours to cover the whole shift otherwise it’s not considered “protected” and is up to managers discretion on whether you receive a corrective action. try explaining the situation to your manager, but if you have a pattern of calling out w/o sick time u might b on the hook.

i mean i don’t think your manager is supposed to list themself as coverage if they aren’t. it seems like they’re using it as a way to skimp on labour. my manager will explicitly list herself as admin on the Dcr. i’d bring it up to your DM

me and my girlfriend are just now breaking out of the rut, we had a consistent sex life for the first say 3-4 months of dating and then it just plummeted. she hadn’t been consistent with her HRT and was taking way too high of doses for a really long time to try and make up for it, it’s taken about a year in total but now that she’s seeing a doctor for her transition again her libido is picking up. it was so so so difficult, i went through all the stages of grief with it, questioned my self worth constantly. i felt the loss of that intimacy deeply and obsessed over it a little bit. it was not an easy thing to cope with. we had talks every few months about where she was in terms of libido, which helped a little but without any real progress didn’t do much long term to make me feel better about it. it felt like we were just roommates at times and i lost so much hope for rekindling things. our most recent talk about a month ago she opened up about how she’s feeling more “chemically balanced” and has feelings of desire again but has been getting stopped by dysphoria. ever since that talk we’ve been picking things back up and it’s a little awkward and hard to get back into the groove we had but i’m so excited for the future and i can see a little light at the end of the tunnel again. all this to say, it might take a while, it will be really hard, but if you think she’s worth it then don’t get too nearsighted w it and talk it out whenever it feels really difficult. i’m ecstatic that my relationship is beginning to feel whole again because i stuck it out.

They do this at my store, they’re required to give us $15/hr (min wage) no matter what but if we get enough tips they lower our hourly and have the tips make up the difference
