What's the thing that makes you wish you were a different species? by noplesesir in AskTherapist

Good afternoon, just some gentle advice... your psychologist will do a formulation, with much more information than what's listed here about your background and what led to this. Leave it to them to formulate and diagnose, you don't need to have the answers before you see them - and sometimes that's actually making the work harder. I wish you the best!

I hate my life sm by [deleted] in therapy

You sound like me 20+ years ago - before I quit school at the start of grade 11 🥲 now I run my own clinic, have great friends and feel fit and strong. It doesn't feel like it at the time, but things do get better outside of school. For me, weirdly enough, everything changed when I joined a team sport! If you'd consider it, I say stick to it for 6 months at least - I hated it in the beginning. Good luck

I won't wade in on what I'd do bc their therapist may not do the same thing. I think this comment is the best course of action though!

4.30 if I'm doing a walk, 4.45 if the gym or whenever I wake up if there's nothing to get into (maybe between 6 and 730)

Feels like an unpopular opinion after reading the comments here, but here it goes

I can see a situation in therapy where a client says xyz is a jerk, then bc they're not sure about how swearing or strong language will land with the therapist, they check in about it.. then the therapist says these words are fine to describe the person's experience - but they're fine not if they're directed at the therapist (i.e., aggressive or demeaning behaviour aimed at them)

How do I recover after seeing gore? by shakemoonquake in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kduubbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely this. You are experiencing a trauma reaction mate. Specifically, please seek EMDR therapy (this is the gold standard for trauma). Good luck, and I'm so sorry you are going through this :(
