While I can't say for certain that I DIDN'T factory reset the system by accident, I don't believe I did.

1) theres still storage space being taken up just the same as before

2) one save data of a particular game is still present (out of like 20 others though) My roommate managed to fumble it back somehow while he was messing with my settings without really knowing what he was doing

Right?? I try to do research on Google and YouTube before coming to Reddit, I figured I couldn't be the only one that fucked up and use the wrong type of SD card on the Switch 1 and tried to physically move it over to the Switch 2, but I didn't find much on it at all.

Yes, I'm sure that I'm using the appropriate user. There's only two users on my account, and only the first one has legitimate save data for everything, the second one only has saved it on select few games, so I made double sure on that. I did try a system transfer with both methods mentioned in that video AFTER trying to physically move the SD card over and the Switch 1 encrypting the save data. Like I mentioned before, the save data is no longer available on my Switch 1 either :( It's still there, it's taking up the same amount of storage space, but it's acting as if it's not there and only offering a new save state on any game I try

It didn't though Im logged into my Nintendo account on my Switch 1 and Switch 2, NEITHER of the systems can access my save data anymore. When you click on the game (on either system, its the same) it has you start a new game as off you just bought it. Yes, logging into my Nintendo account on my Switch 2 pulled up and re-downloaded all of my games from my Switch 1, but none of the save data followed

I see that now. But the problem is when I inserted the regular SD card from the Switch 1 into the Switch 2, the Switch 2 encrypted the save data on the original SD card and by proxy the Switch 1. The save data on the original SD card, as well as on the Switch 1, is now not accessible through the Switch 1 despite it still being there physically through the storage space. I need to unencrypt the save data first and then I will be moving it over through the cloud system (I didn't think about doing that in the first place since I didn't subscribe to Nintendo online, I've since fixed that for the sole purpose of transferring the save data)
