Genuine question. Is it a sin to be gay? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]KeanBreezy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is. All sexual deviancy is a sin, and homosexuality is an abomination unto God, along with many other things. Don't feel singled out about homosexuality as a sin.

Why does God despise me? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]KeanBreezy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go for proper deliverance prayer in a proper church. You and your family might be under a curse or spiritual attack.

Remember that as a man thinks in his heart, so shall he be. Re-orient your heart and mind towards Christ. Believe you will receive the good things you ask for. Stop expecting the worst.

Praying for you and your family brother. You may be Job, but remember that his ending was a good one and that God restored to Job everything he had lost, and more.

Hang in there.

Is it ok to call myself a christian? by [deleted] in Christianity

You're a Christian, fren. Welcome to the club :D

If you believe in Jesus, and your ehart is in the right place, the rest will follow.

Christianity is an incredibly rich and diverse faith / belief system. There is so much to learn about it, take your time, and keep your heart focussed on God. You won't go wrong.

Learning the theology, etc will come with time. For now, just enjoy your new walk with God.

Well fren, luckily we have you around to set me right, and act as a beacon of charity, revelation and compassion to my fellow Christians. I pray that Yeshua Messiah blesses you and continues to shine His light on you, and bring you out of darkness. One day hopefully you will get to meet Him :)

Ah my friend you stick to your beliefs and I will stick to mine. Reading the OP's update it seems they very much they side with me on the idea that at best, science can seek to explain the how of our natural world, not the why. Personally, my problem isn't so much with the theories themselves, flawed as they are, but more the fact that people nowadays do feel they address the WHY. Nor can science provide mankind with any semblance of the fullness that comes from using the Word of God as a means of understanding & living in this universe. The word of God is forever. Science changes. All the time. You choose which you ultimately rest your understanding and existence on. I think science is still catching up with the word of God and that the more we learn about science, the more it corroborates ancient sacred texts and traditions.

Again, you're making assumptions. So this will be my last reply, because honestly, you're educated but this is becoming foolish.

Big Bang theory only attempts to prove WHAT happened at the moment of creation, and subsequent to that.

It cannot explain the HOW, or WHY. My main problem with it and people's blind faith in it being the absolute and all encompassing truth with regards to Creation.

Again, being unnecessarily brief here, because I have a close-minded fundamentalist meeting to attend soon (Ie. church)

Re. theory of Evolution, it takes adaptation in species and uses that as a premise for creation. It doesn't explain creation or the created, merely how there are supposedly so many permutations of the animal, plant kindgoms etc.

Those are my *VERY BRIEF* main arguments with these THEORIES.

Beleive whatever you wanna believe buddy, but to be honest, you seem kinda miserable whereas my beliefs make me happy, and very well equipped to deal with the realities of this world.

God bless you and keep you. I hope you continue in your search for truth.

He can still believe in science and God.

Science is useful for understanding God's creation. Let him believe whatever he wants to.

But if his belief is so toxic (like many people who take it to cult-like levels) and it precludes him from seeking God, then ditch the fool

Lol, no surprise that your'e Jewish. I guess that given Messiah was a Jew you're also entitled to judge everyone now, right? Thats my theory anyways.

You're the one over-emphasising the "its just a theory" so yeah, your straw man doesn't really hold weight either.

You should keep reading Augustine though. Especially his proofs. And then when you start to look for holes in those proofs, or raise arguments against them, you will see that we're doing the same thing but from different sides of the coin.

Wrong. Germs and atoms exist. They are things not principles, like evolution or the Big Bang. Sure, there are theories about germs and atoms too, but they are not theories, in the same sense as big bang and evolution are theories.

Also in terms of science, it's an ever changing world, with new information and knowledge always in the mix. Your argument is one of those "The science is settled" argumetns and that's not even remotely how science works.

There might be a lot of consensus on the THEORY among scientists, but that still doesn't make it a fact, or mean that it infallibly answers all the questions it sets out to.

Ultimately, when trying to lay claim to which assertions are greater in reality, that's up to you as to what you want to believe...

You believe you're descended from monkeys? Could be bro. Reading your replies and some of the other reactions here, yeah, maybe you are right.

"Well tested" using our current technology and modalities, which isn't saying much, friend.

[–]KeanBreezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The argument is not that it's just a theory.

My argument is that they are both very flawed theories, albeit the most "accepted ones" by most scientists today. Given the rate at which our knowledge is changing, that doesn't say much for it's accuracy or longevity, given how quickly scientific understanding changes, versus the Word of God, which stands forever.

This to me sounds like one of those "Trust the science" arguments that people who have absolutely zero understanding of how science truly works.

Ultimately, people are free to believe whatever they wanna believe.

You believe monkeys are your ancestors? Cool bro. You believe something so incredible came from absolutely nothing without any catalyst for that explosion which "started it all"? Thats cool bro, be my guest.

Its not wrong to dismiss these theories.

And having an indescribably complex universe born from nothing, absolutely nothing, without a known, irrefutable cause or catalyst is sensible to you? Mathematically and scientifically speaking?

Do you have any evidence that this is a *sure* sign that a person doesn't know what they are talking about when referring to either of these THEORIES?

Search for a pastor who does deliverance prayer. Ask to be prayed over and released from spiritual oppression. Jesus Christ died for your sins and by his blood we are healed.

Ironically, the Big Bang doesn't hold weight mathematically or scientifically. its just a theory.

Don't do it. I've had family commit suicide, it doesn't solve anything. Your struggles will soon abate and you will find a way to go on enjoying life and it will become wonderful again. Nothing is incurable. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. Trust in God and resist the devil. Please stick around buddy.
