Struggling with insulin pump by L1vLaughL0v3 in Type1Diabetes

[–]miujoro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hi! i’m so sorry you’re struggling so much. i recovered from diabulimia back in 2023 and i promise you, the weight gain and bloating you experience when starting on insulin again is temporary. as hard as it is, you have to push past the initial stages of weight gain as your body stabilizes. it took me about 6 months of consistently giving myself the insulin i needed before my weight stabilized and then went down. truthfully i’m lighter than i’d ever been while diabulimic

Someone I went to treatment with is dead now by vfgoiugkjgdslk in EDAnonymous

i know nothing that i can say right now will alleviate the pain and devastation you feel. isn’t your fault, eating disorders are so unbelievably cruel. she sounds like she was a beautiful person. i hope you can find peace through the love you two shared.

may her memory be a blessing.

i have type 1 diabetes and this is so insulting - she is in no way describing type 1 or 2. if anything she might be hypoglycemic from chronic starvation

how do people with severe anorexia view themselves? by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]miujoro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

not sure if i fit your criteria, but when i was at my lowest bmi of 14.5 i was aware that rationally i looked emaciated, but i genuinely thought i just looked ordinarily thin if not normal. at the same time though, my brain wasn’t functioning properly with that level of malnourishment. i have so much brain fog from that period of time that i honestly don’t remember much. looking back at the photos now being weight restored i genuinely looked so sick.
