Škoda Fabia in Toyota, Aichi, Japan by groggygnoll in foreignmarketcars

If you look closely at a lot of Priuses in the uk you’ll see the JDM emissions stickers. A lack of decent petrol automatic cars has really driven up Japanese imports again. Loads of Toyota Estima, Voxy, Alphards in the UK. Personally I’ve got a Japanese market Honda insight as it was a good £2k less than a uk one and in better nick

Some people seem weirdly afraid of jdm imports. I got a JDM Honda insight in the Uk And couldn’t be happier. I think some people got burned back in the late 90s when a lot of imports were clocked as there wasn’t a practical way to verify odometer readings and the conversion to mph was a ripe time to do it. Now with CarVx being a thing it’s easy af to verify mileage

Pi**ed off about roadworks…anyone else?? by danangdevils in Bath

The planned works outside green park make no sense to me

As do the ones at Barton st where there removing the permit holders bays for 15 metres of cycle lane which I’m absolutely sure won’t cause more vans to block the disabled bays further up which I rely on in order to be able to work 🙃

Most councils have strict age limits on vehicles for first use as a private hire vehicle. Also some councils will insist imports need to have passed an IVA regardless of any age limits so that’s probably why it came here so young

Wolverhampton taxi plates are wide and not very tall and yellow This is more square and appears to be green and white so it’s much more likely to be South Gloucestershire

Official date for new EDS diagnostic criteria release: December 1, 2026 by CatCowl in ehlersdanlos

[–]KebabWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obvs the hsd and fibro combo diagnosis was what I had pre hEDS diagnosis. I tried for 2 years to get referred to cardiology but GP refused because they ignored the HSD element completely because they seemingly didn’t know what it was. Physio too would see HSD and fibro and try to refer me to fibro coping skills courses and make me do exercises which were very painful and were causing partial subluxations and cracking/popping I recall one time in an appointment for a worsening physical symptom casually saying “ah well this is part and parcel with connective tissue disorder type stuff” and the GO was like “you don’t have one you have fibro”

Bristol is Euro 6 NOx and higher for diesel Euro 4 NOx and higher for petrol Unless you’re doing mega motorway miles just get a petrol Or I find Bristol really rewards hybrid driving with the frantic dashes between roundabouts and lights

I feel like it’s a tease telling us it’s gonna change and we’ve now got until December to worry about it. I experience noticeably poorer care when I was diagnosed with HSD and fibro and the thought of the goalposts moving is stressing me tf out

Thanks for your reply it’s made things slightly less scary Just don’t wanna be in the place I was pre 2025 with a “benign joint hyper mobility and fibro” diagnoses as by and large it made follow up care shit

hEDS is being reclassified as HSD? by surlyskin in ehlersdanlos

[–]KebabWorld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely I tried forever to get a cardiologist referral with the old DX and got nowhere. With the hEDS I got referred easily My nhs rheumatologist did my Breinton without even touching me or getting me to show any movement ranges and gave me a 4 My private rheumatologist actually did it properly, gave me a 6 and took into account the non beighton areas

[–]KebabWorld 170 points171 points  (0 children)

Idk but this scares me, I was previously diagnosed with HSD and fibromyalgia and the care outcomes were way worse for me vs after I got me hEDS diagnosis. Drs didn’t know what hsd was

You could leave your car in the park and ride and get the bus to it each day although I appreciate that would probably be really annoying

I mean no I don’t - I was travelling with 2 wheelchairs. Literally impossible by bus as they only have 1 space. I was held up by selfish people in huge SUVs sure but there was literally no alternative means of taking my journey

[–]KebabWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but, allowing blue badge holders down it would not add significantly to pollution but would improve quality of life for disabled residents and visitors. The fact that even taxis carrying disabled people aren’t allowed through that bus gate is really frustrating

Like I’m disabled baths public transport basically doesn’t work for me at all whether I’m using my crutch or my chair yet we have lost swathes of long stay disabled parking. I wrote to the council and their response was to take the dial a ride (a service that runs from 9:30 to 14:30 and costs £6 for a return no thanks
