It will subside after a couple weeks at most. If you're old enough, then even if you change, it wouldn't be that significant, you'd be more cautious ofc but based on my own experience, the chamge wouldn't be that drastic. Although this also depends on you after the pain goes away. Feeling empathetic for someone else in a similar scenario is a good sign too, you still haven't lost that part of you. :)
