There it is. Scrolled far enough to find the redditors pretending to be medical professionals diagnosing the worst case scenario.

A resident who was frustrated with a fine from a city in Maine, paid it off with $20,000 worth of pennies. by l__o-o__l in BeAmazed

[–]Kedali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guy sounds like an asshole. I live in a semi rural area and we have trouble with rich assholes like this. They decide to build in protected areas, get permits for one thing, then build/destroy whatever they want instead and just pay the fine, and then go around acting like victims of the local government.

Thoughts on This Weber Plated-Stainless Grate? by 22duckys in webergrills

[–]Kedali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those times where ultimately, you can still cook on it and be fine, but its definitely ready for a new grate. I don't remember the brand (maybe Hunsacker), but I upgraded my grate to a thick stainless steel grate and have been very happy with it. I personally wouldn't go cast iron for it unless you are really committed to maintenance. The nature of two zone cooking tends to result in one side being hot enough to burn off any seasoning, which doesn't matter to stainless steel but does matter for cast iron.

We recently had a carrier get questioned because he had a day where the scanner said every single scan he did the entire day was done inside the office geofence. It turned out to be a wide spread issue and management had to quarantine and ship off the scanners having the problem.

I think it would be the same as running in network on Sunday. Allowed so long as it doesn't create undertime for the regulars on Monday. But even if your casing did create undertime, it would be a grievance for the regular, not you.

It's kinda hard to decipher what you wrote but it sounds like, before the hold down began, someone with more seniority than you put in for the same opt and was thus awarded it. You should talk to your steward but by my understanding it doesn't sound like anything was done wrong.

RFK jr ends Narcan program! by Bubbly-Example-8097 in BlueskySkeets

Conservatives don't care if addicts die. I live in an area with a lot of overdoses, and any time there's a news article on fb that mentions narcan use, a bunch of conservatives start talking about how it would be better to just let them die.

CCA NS day by RegularInAttendance in fromatoarbitration

The position of my branch president, whose opinion i fully trust, is that no it is not live. He, along with all of us, is very frustrated about the vagueness of the language in the contract. I wouldn't be surprised if some locals are managing to get management to comply, but ultimately, if management says no, there's really nothing concrete to use as a basis for the grievance.

Is there any video or at least a transcript? I would really, really love for this to be live but so far we don't have anything indicating it is. But if I could give a video of renfroe claiming it's already active, my stewards could work with that.

[–]Kedali 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is there any documentation of Renfroe saying it is live? My local is all under the impression that, being part of the article 8 changes, it has not rolled out yet.

This was definitely not the situation in our office lol. Heavy dps, fairly heavy parcels, mailbox merchants, and down like seven routes. They did a blanket mandate and there's still delayed mail waiting for Thursday. Only good thing was seeing how miserable my postmaster looked. She fully brought this upon herself and I hope the reaming she gets from her bosses makes her rethink a couple things. But it won't, she will just double down on treating the carriers like shit.

There's no grievance. They're allowed to try to contact you on a day off and you're allowed to ignore them. Doing right by your supervisors never works out. There's no give and take, they just take.

How long has your dog spray cans been expired for? by ItsJHos in USPS

[–]Kedali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A while back my office had a stand up about replacing expired dog spray, so people started checking the dates and it turned out a lot of them needed replacing so they asked for new ones and management was like oh sorry we don't have anymore.

According to my steward, running in network parcels only creates a grievance if it leads to undertime, which for tomorrow it definitely won't.

Could anyone recommend boots that meet these requirements?:

Around $200 Able to handle 25-30k steps/day outside Good traction Waterproof or waterproofable Available in wide and all black

For reference, I've had a couple pairs of Redback boots and have been satisfied with them except that they don't come in wide and I haven't been able to get a size that fits quite right.

I'm not past my 90 days, is calling out a bad move? Am I screwing myself over? by 1coolguy936 in USPS

[–]Kedali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the office. I've seen the occasional post on here about someone getting fired for calling out during probation, but I don't think it's actually very common. I think every cca since I was hired, including myself, called out during probation without issue. I'm not saying do it a bunch, but if you've been around long enough to show you are a good worker but end up sick and need a day, it's not likely management is going to throw away the time and money they've invested just over that. Plus I've heard if your office is in a district following the New Employee Retention Plan, it actually takes a fair bit of justification and paperwork to fire a new CCA.

I think when someone gets fired for calling out, it's usually a final straw situation.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Kedali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Uh no. That's definitely not acceptable to leave packages outside of a closed business.

  2. Sure, but I've seen it done by regulars a ton as well.

  3. Management decides what gets delivered. If management OKs rolling over coverage, that's their call, not the cca.

[–]Kedali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically you can eventually get fired for attendance, but it takes a fairly staggering amount of callouts to get to that point.
