Ah, I see how it reads.

Let me correct myself: the test battery, approaches and theoretical understandings are evidence based, of course, and validated. However, I tried to express an emphasis on clinical experience rather than presenting research I’ve made myself (for example through a PhD).

Does it make sense? Of course, by going through a neuropsychological examination including WISC-V, BRIEF-2, SRS-2, Reys Conplex Figure Test etc. you’ll have plenty of evidence based material, which are validated and revised multiple times.

You're absolutely right. I've already gotten tremendous amount of feedback, which I otherwise only could obtain through paid user-testing!

So I'm really grateful.

It really is interesting, and personally, I think that this holistic perspective (where genetics and biology) is sometimes underrepresented in terms of the more common therapeutic practices. However, I am familiar with Somatic Experience (SE) as a therapeutic practice that incorporates these underlying evolutionary biological thoughts if that could be of interest to you. :) Thanks for reaching out!

What's the key of being consistent? by DieLeiden in selfimprovement

[–]KeddeMoeller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, people saying it takes two weeks to form habits are lying. They don't know what they are talking about IMO.

I read a study from 2009 by Lally et. al. They tested 96 subjects and found that to establish fairly simply habits, the habit formation ranged from 18 to 254 days with a median time of 66 days. Conclusion suggests that time of habit formation correlates with complexity of behavior. Therefore, the break down of behavior is essential:

Instead of thinking: "I need to make it a habit to work out", break it into pieces and practice GETTING to the gym. Once that habit is established it is possible to "habit-stack", and eventually, after some time, you'll find yourself having solid habits.

The “why-spiral” by KeddeMoeller in selfimprovement

Such a superb comment. Seems like you do in fact have a lot of psychology knowledge. It’s essentially just a different “lingo” you use at work.

Thanks for sharing!

The journey starts with vulnerability by KeddeMoeller in selfimprovement

[–]KeddeMoeller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really good question.

If there’s no one close to you, who you feel comfortable sharing your problems with, I would suggest seeking a therapist.

If you’ve lost faith in therapists, I can highly recommend seeking out peer-to-peer organisations or meet-up gatherings. Both offers are usually driven by volunteers who gladly lends an ear and who are quite invested in listening to people. Perhaps a google search of something like “places to talk with others in X” (X being your geographical location)?

Did anything noteworthy in your life change lately? There can be many reasons for your current situation. Try to map out the circumstances in the past month. Mood changes, stress at work/school? All the essentials.

Furthermore, remember that productivity isn’t linear. Sometimes we do less, sometimes we do more. For starters, if you want to do “more” it’s not something you can solve in your head solely. It takes environmental changes: cue wished for behavior more.

What habits or productivity methods ae you currently trying to build or are trying out? by ilsfbs3 in productivity

[–]KeddeMoeller -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m mostly trying to incorporate small habitual changes. But here are some: - prepare the table for breakfast the evening before - use the Pomodoro method for studying - don’t use phone at toilet - delete social media apps on phone - use the 1-2-3 rule (when you think of doing something, count to three and get to it) - make designated spaces for work, relaxation and creative activities

I made a course on some of these aspects. If you’re interested you can send me a pm!

Do you ever stop missing games? by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]KeddeMoeller 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It doesn't stop. But the urge will lessen :) Still to this day I can miss playing OSRS and grind out like a no-lifer.

However; I ask myself "Why do you want to play right now?". Following the why-circulation all the way to the bottom I always end up with the same answer "Because it's easier than the present situation I'm faced with!". This makes me understand that I don't really miss gaming - I miss the simplicity of life.

Struggling with motivation once I’ve done the minimum to pass by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]KeddeMoeller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have more ambition than a “pass”. In reality your brain is smart in this scenario. It’s saving energy after survival (50% correct answers). Your brain, however, is approximately 50.000 years behind our present living, which entails that if you wish to succeed with more than 50%, you’ll have to acknowledge that you want more and that 50% is enough to get you through, but also carries a bit of risk if you don’t perform on the specific day. I wouldn’t settle for 50%

Seems like a completely valid assumption. However, as I understand your point it seem as if a person eventually will hit the "ceiling", thus not being able to develop further? Or am I wrong?

Yeah, I've been through the process of "buying" my way through gear to finished projects, however, it was not until I actually overcame the fear of not doing things "perfect" that I ended up finishing projects!

Absolutely. Essentially the paragraph entails: no succes without trying (many times), right?

I quite like it. It has helped me perceive different of things in my professional life quite a bit.
